Been dealing with Bull City for a long time, use my CC, never had an issue, they are local to me, and have always hand written a thank you on my packing slips. I never use a debit card for innernet purchases though, too paranoid.

My PayPal isn't set up correctly at the moment so I just made a purchase using my debit cards info placed in. I'm worried that my info could be stolen. Has anyone else ordered from here using their cc/dc info? Have you all been fine doing so?

Thanks to Equifax, you can rest assured your info has long since been stolen. shop anywhere with confidence.

I've never had a problem with them. If you ever shopped at Target you already took a greater chance. Just watch your credit and debit card accounts and use banks with good fraud departments. All the major, and even smaller banks devote a lot of effort on this front. PayPal may feel safe from a retailer breach position, but there's no guarantee they won't be breached one day either.

Previous to reading Puffon's post above, I understood that debit cards were less monitored than credit cards. Nonetheless, I stay with what my bank says.

Debit cards are just less secure than credit cards for two known reasons. I never use mine. I use my CC for all purchases and my ATM for pocket money.

Usually, a bank that deals with government employees will follow government-level security (Department of Treasury) encryption and algorithms to detect fraud quicker.

A good bank is rarely on your local street corner.

There's more to worry about than just using a cc to risk fraudulent use. My daughter was traveling and was using free wifi at the airport. I'm not sure folks are aware but spoofing of free public wifi is not unusual. Well it happened to her. Not only compromised her contacts and emails but he Vimeo account she uses to pay bills and her online banking app. She got hit with a ton of fraudulent charges from someone in TN, and had to contact everyone about the beach. She still can't use some of her apps that are linked to her cc, and just had the bank reverse all the charges.

After a total wipe of her phone, installation of a password manager and a VPN for any wifi use she is finally back up and running. Fraud can occur in all sorts of situations, and is not limited to just a single retail transaction. Reusing passwords, opening emails without knowing who is from, and using unsecured online access is just as dangerous as placing an online order.

Yes I was surprised they said this. I use a local credit union.
The card is issued through visa.
I still only use it at atms, after checking if a skimmer has been stuck on the atm...LOL

I've purchased with them and no problem.

Having said that, I used a credit card. Never use my debit for on-line purchases. Something about allowing access to my checking and savings account balances just doesn't sit well, regardless of the "protections" offered by the bank. I do have alerts set up on all of my cards, debit and otherwise, so I can monitor activity, but once the horse is out of the stable...
