I dropped my mod in my elevator and the RSST tank top cap rolled off and went down the elevator shaft in the gap on the floor,i was on the ground level and its just sitting there but cant get at it.It will cost 450 bucks too have the elevator guys too come in and management are not allowed too enter the shaft area,its a long shot,but anyone know where too get a spare top cap,looks like ill have blow another 30 bucks. I still have my galss AGAt2 thank God.

Stick some duct tape on to the end of a stretched out wire hanger and go fishing? Or bend a hook on the end of the wire.

Good idea but the floor below its on is about 15/20 feet it seems,looks almost impossible,i spoke too mangement and i have an option too wait until he elevator has a problem again and set it up with the guys when they come in,actually they were in this morning and the idiot superintendent didnt tell them.Could have ben worse,my Natural could have went down.

Ask the maintenance company what the PM schedule is for that elevator in the building, and lay in wait for the crew the day it's due. You could also have them note that you lost something in the log book for the elevator, and they might even notate it for retrieval and return to you without further input on your behalf.

Excellent idea,i did call them today and i didnt think of that,im not really in a rut as i still have my AGA tank and 3 Vivi Nova tanks,i just cant jusify blowing another 3O bucks knowing the tank cap is accessible and they do come here on regular basis as we have 4 huge buildings in my apt complex.Ill get it sooner or later.I sure miss the RSST tho,i think its hits better than the AGA,im thinkn the insulated wick hole makes the tank less of a heat sink and battery hog.

Got some good news,i called the elevator company and they will let me know soon when they are scheduled too make the next maintenance check up call,they do a monthly call too this building and they maybe here again sooner as the elevators are new and they are having frequent problems.

That's good news then. Hope you get it back. Finding just a top cap for sale probably wouldn't be easy.

but having spare: spring/tank/ center post/ and 510 connector is always a bonus

i'de rather not spend the gas looking for spare screws or bolts... or that pesky fill hole bung, that i 've lost and found 3 times already

You can also use the gaskets from the Nova/Protank coil heads too fit the tanks center post too stop leaks or as a replacement, same gasket,it also is the same gasket in most 510 top pin connections.

UPDATE:

Ive decided too go ahead and just buy another RSST,dont want too wait for a month or longer for the elevator service guys too come around,o well,at least i have spare parts and if the tank cracks i have an extra,maybe i can use the spring and center post for my AGA for an easy setup, as you all know the AGA is a too set up.
