Hey guys, I am new here. Been vaping a few months, but got serious about it (quitting analogs) these last two weeks.
So I picked up a Kanger pro tank and a mini pro tank along with a Sigelei Z max the other day at Vape dojo in Md. Today coming home from work, I dropped my Pro tank underneath my e brake and when I went to apply the E brake it crushed the tank. (Hadn't noticed it had fallen out of my pocket). So then I step out of the car and my cig was on my lap, and fell to the ground. It bent the tip on the mini pro tank. Upon taking it apart to see if I could fix it, the threaded shaft that holds the two end caps together broke where the thread meets the shaft. So.. I have 4 packages of Kanger tank heads, but I am feeling like I want to move away from the kanger to something a little nicer and sturdier. Solid metal would be fine, would also like it to me slightly more 'custom' if you will. I have looked at some of the tanks on vaperev and really like them, but I do not really know what I am doing yet and don't want to buy something that wont work. Would like to stay under 100 bucks, any suggestions? (note: I saw a tank that was called the 'diver' that I liked the appearance of. but was unable to find it)

At least your zmax held up. For now just get some t3s so you and use the coils..they are cheap enough. They are pretty sturdy..I have had absinthe in mine and the tank has held up. Those metal tanks look nice but I bet they are pretty heavy and since they have a 501 thread I would be afraid the the stemm may break off if you dropped your pv. I had a Puritank(505 threads) with aan airflow controller on my Zmax..it fell on the carpet and the stem of the tank broke into the airflow controller..thank goodness that it didn't break off in my Sig..or I would have been crying. I am going to stay with the Ego threading myself. I just read on another thread how someone broke a 501 on their provari..that would be a big sob.

Is there any tanks that will take that kind of abuse? No.

May be Hybrid? But with Hybrid's steep learning curve and expense, you are ready for it from the sound of it.

Buy some more Protank 2/Protank and stop abusing it as such. Sorry to be Mr. obvious here!

Another choice would be get some extra EVOD's and keep a few extra when you break them.

Cheers

shout out to vape dojo.

Anyways, all stainless tank sounds nice, though I'd end up hurting something checking it all the time. FWIW, I dropped my vv hooked up to one of my evods the other day. no issues... of course, it wasn't crushed under an ebrake or dropped onto asphalt/concrete ;) In my case it was dropped onto tile floor from only about 3-4 feet maybe. I was bending over and the vv was in my breast pocket. Of course it sounds like you're trying to stay away from the plastic (polycarbonate?) tanks, which I think is what the evod tanks are.

That's probably the best idea, and what I will probably end up doing for a backup. I like to spend money though..

I had thought about getting the Evods. I had been pretty good with it up until now, but I know its just a matter of time with anything glass that I need to carry on me all the time due to my line of work.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Here's the Diver:
The Diver - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

So I guess one would buy the Diver, and then a tank and a drip tip? Are those items the only things required to complete that build?
I have grown fairly competent with rebuilding with silica.

Doesnt get much more indestructable than a tatroe tank, not cheap, but you can always use your stock protank base (or buy their nice one) and still use your heads. (Its basically a high end SS protank)

Tatroe Mods
I like that as well. Any pictures of a completed unit? How does that vendor do for fast shipping?

The dojo is an excellent little shop. I live in NoVa, so its a hike for me. But worth it.

I'm sure that you want to have something that is more durable. That been said, when you have this tank of a tank on top of the MOD, With the threading (510 or otherwise) can withstand the drop or a crush?

That is the question.

When the threading is destroyed, what happens then.

Just something to consider with the cost of the tank.

I would gladly give up my EVOD or something similar to a drop than even to a protank for example.

Another thing, EVOD , T3 or similar tanks uses EGO threading which is on the outside of the 510 threading and its seems to connect more securely to the MOD.

Good luck with your search.

Cheers

My though exactly..I just can't believe the a 510 connection broke when I got up and it fell on carpet. That is enough for me to stick with ego threads. The only other thing I can think of is you get some sort of extension adapter so if the tank threads break(like mine did) they would hopefully break into a $3 extender.

I do understand what you are saying. In all reality I will probably end up with a pro tank before I get anything else. The whole experience was discouraging, as I live at least an hour away from the nearest vape shop.

I turned down a piece of aluminum in my lathe and was able to make a temporary tank that fits between the existing pro tank heads. Not very pretty, but it works.

On a side note, I appreciate everyone's responses. Amazing how quick you guys were to reply.

Drew, your problem is more than likely the wick drying out when you take a hit. I am not familiar with the divine, but I would either try a new head or get into the art of rebuilding them. I know with the kanger, you can take out the extra wick on top of the coil and it is known to improve the taste. You may also have a juice that is not the proper blend for your clearo and is not allowing a proper wick saturation.
Im new too, but I hope that helps.

I am on the same page. I bought an ego c twist with a davine mini glassomizer and it taste burnt :(

What is the resistance of the head in the davide and what voltage do you have your battery set at?

*EDIT* Just a heads up, the resistance may be stamped on the bottom post of the head (coil). If not, theres likely no way for you to tell with a mm or ohm meter.
