My son was working on the church bus last Saturday and leaned against something hot and burned his left side pretty good. It's about an inch or a bit longer. The area around it of course is pink but has not gotten darker. The pink has shrunk on the sides but spread a bit below (very little), but he leans against his desk at work a lot. No red streaks shooting off of the injured area.
The above is all expected. What has me a little concerned is the scab it's forming has a green tent to it. He is using peroxide. and then triple antibiotic cream and A&D cream.
He called his doctor who is overwhelmed right now and he said to just keep doctoring it and watch closely.
The green (even if just slight) is making us all nervous. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Well, I've never heard of anything like that but that doesn't mean much. He should keep it clean with a mild soap and warm water, then antibiotic ointment and a large non stick gauze pad over it. Burns should heal from the inside out, in other words you don't want the scab forming too soon or you could seal in an infection and have a more visable scar. He should see a Doctor as soon as he can get in. Maybe a walk in clinic?

Ouch!

It sounds like the green you are seeing is the dead skin being bleached by the peroxide. Green drainage or pus from the burn is not okay and that would be a sign of infection.

Peroxide is notorious for scarring. If it were my burn, I'd wash the area daily with soap and water and dab on some TAO. A Telfa pad is great for oozing.

If you think he has any signs of infection, I wouldn't mess around about getting to a doctor.

Scar zone burnzone is amazing, smells and looks like hell but it saved a wrist tattoo and almost no pink scar.

People are amazed when I tell them it was a high 2nd almost 3rd degree burn. Scar Zone® Burn Gel With Green Tea

I will swear by it since the scar is not noticed unless in bright light and no scaring. I did have a NASTY brown sugar burn from xmas dinner on my thumb that took forever to heal and left the top of it looking like a burn patient's digit.
