Having a slightly baffling issue with my Innokin Coolfire IV and iSub tank...

Okay, earlier I started getting a few slightly dry hits.... Not every hit though, at first I just thought it was me, but after a bit it became clear, nope, not an issue with my taster (have a slight cold, so that's why I wasn't sure) so I decided the atomizer I was using must be done for. Plently of juice in the tank, and I wasn't chain vaping or running a higher wattage than usual.

Currently I have two atomizers for my tank open.... One quite used, and one that had hardly been used at all. (So that I have one to use while the other sits and dries after being washed, because I change flavors a lot) I have no idea which was in my tank, so I assumed it was the older one and swapped it out.

Threw a few drops into the other atty and put the tank back together, let it sit for a while (probably ten minutes, I got distracted doing something) and then starting vaping again. Everything was good for probably 10 or so draws, and then suddenly I was back to really dry and burnt tasting hits.

Why am I getting this in both atomizers? Also, with both, I was getting plenty of vapor, just a bad taste. I had the boyfriend try it and it tasted bad to him too, so it isn't just me, and it's a familiar juice that I've been vaping a lot of, so it shouldn't be a juice issue.

Hi Kitty! Are you keeping your watts below 30? Are you using high VG (thick) juices that aren't wicking as quick as you are vaping? Are you vaping high sugar or tobacco vapes that might be clogging your coils too fast? Another thing to check is the screen on the atty, some people are finding that wiping off the condensate on it improves the taste quick & dramatic.. Hope we can get ya sorted out!

Some people here with similar problems:

Yup, I don't really vape over 30 watts, I'm at 25 right now. The juice is Jazzy Boba, not sure its exact PG/VG ratio but it certainly isn't a super thick one.

I actually went ahead and and put in a brand new atty and now everything seems a-okay. I guess both of the atties I was switcing between went out basically at the same time, which is weird because one of them was being used for several weeks longer than the other. Which seems weird, but, oh well, maybe the newer one was slighly a dud.

I only assume 2 things as I had this happen to me with my aspire triton tank. 1. coils are gunked just after maybe 2 days my coil went bad happened consistently with this tank 2. lack of wicking tried a few things that was supposed to help the wicking such as poking holes into the wick to help it wick faster worked for a little bit then went back to dry burnt hits thus I assumed my coils were already gunked. and lastly 3. burnt cotton if you fire it too high then it can handle it will burn the cotton and taste bad and give burnt hits trust me I vaped a whole 3ml of juice off of burnt cotton had like 20 glasses of water it was bad I think I didn't even finish it either maybe half way and said nope not vaping this anymore and just tossed it out.

this is why I switched to an RTA ease of a tank but better flavor. I also switched to rayon because it wicks better and has a harder time burning. I'm running my gobbling mini at 34-37 watts atm if was cotton it would has burnt at maybe 28 watts

Dry Hits can be caused by a number of things. Here are two:
* If running a tank, air flow must be figured out. If your draw/inhale is not high enough, it will burn. Make sure the air flow adjustments are open initially and keep your draw high.
* If the e-liquid is too viscous it will not flow and the coil will burn. You might consider adjusting air flow vents down, inhaling harder, and even adding a few drops of de-ionized water to the e-liquid.

25w, no mention of the tank you are using.

Give us a chance. :D

Most tanks won't vape at 25w regardless of what they claim to do.

Not true. Most tanks can vape at 25W, they just need a coil that requires that wattage, and a mech mod or box mod capable of powering it.

Example: ASPIRE (A)TLANTIS II & (T)RITON ATOMIZER/COIL KEY
A 0.3 ohm XX: 70-80W 4 holes, white O-ring
T 0.3 ohm SS: 45-55W 4 holes, black O-ring
T 0.4 ohm SS: 25-30W 4 holes, black O-ring
A 0.5 ohm XX: 20-30W 4 holes, white O-ring
A 1.0 ohm XX: 40-50W 4 holes, white O-ring
? 1.8 ohm Ka: 10-13W 2 holes, blue O-Rings
