Hey Kent. Thanks. I really like the v2 Xl 510s - the regular ones not so much. I'm getting some version 3.5 XL 510s in a few days. Curious to see what the difference will be.

I did have some leaking with the v2s but I'm impressed so far. And they do last longer than most cartomizers.

zelda,

I figured out that I have the R3.5** XLs and the flavor isn't up to regular atty/cart and other cartos standards. Really familiar with this flavor - habana reserve - #1 fav. So I'm a bit disappointed. I'm pretty sure it isn't the primer by now but I'll thoroughly clean the next one before loading. But if it's not that I don't know what it would be???? Again, the reason I have the regular size is because the wetbox doesn't need the capacity and that one is still vaping well. I'll likely pop for the newer R4 in the non-xl version.

check out the Terminator from Notcigs...

Why do I have a feeling that this thing is going to kill my Riva? :p

Salt, how do you like your Buzz? I'm trying to figure out if I need a mod.

Even if its not harmfull it changes the whole concept that e cigs are a safe alternative. Ecigs are supposed to be water vapor not real smoke.

Dock, you've got some catching up to do. You're still in May of 2009? :D

Honest, things have changed for the better since the post you're quoting was made. You can safely skip to May 2010 without missing much. But I agree with your post 100%. That's why we've been at it for a long time and won't stop until the first burn proof carto hits the market.

I really do understand that. Personal preference, ergonomics, looks....and while I like the 2AA box the 3AA box (5v Bart) is a tad big. I can cover the box with my hand and it ends up being more 'stealthy' than even the small protege. My idea mod would be a Janty Stick V3 with a 14500 batt and variable - it also has the usb charger built in like the Bartleby. :)

Is this the DV line from TW? They've been out of it for quite a while.

Yes. That stuff. Didn't notice it being gone because I have so much ;-) I use the flavoring and make my own in VG. I do have some premixed in PG during a period of transition over there. It's an non-tobacco, tobacco - Nick decided to make it from scratch and used mesquite, black pepper, and 20 some herbs.... no tobacco absolute - in fact, the new 'Black Label' is the first stuff that has tobacco extract in any DV ejuice. I had some 'real tabs' from an earlier order that he sent me. That's good too. I put a review on a few of the Black Label flavors on the DV site in suppliers.

Well I just read the E2 thread on the nicotime E2s and I'm curious what I'll find the cartos I'll get are like. Very odd.

Quite odd. I just revised my answer to you above.... autopsy scheduled for tomorrow and I think I'll include that first eGo carto too - I've been threatening that for a week. ;-) Still working - kinda hate to kill it. We'll see.

I'll be looking forward to the eGo autopsy. I always vape my stuff way past where it tastes like it's done (kind of like that acrid bite at times). But it would be nice to know that I'm not smoking my fillers.

So far, with the eGo cartos & carts and now the new Joye cartos - the nature of the polyfil is a bit different - better, imo - less stringy and from the carts which I can see and the cartos Scott cut open and the one Joye I cut the filler has been near pristine - actually pristine on the Joye. I don't think the stuff burns at the temps generated. But I'll let you know. Not much on taking pics though....

haha, I don't need no steenkin pics, your observation is good enough for me :). These are the only thing so far that's come close (if not equal) to attys or KR808D-1s at 6v. and I know I burn the KR808Ds. The other carts were ok but really tough to find ones at 3 - 3.4 ohms. So I'm doing these whether I'm smoking the filler or not for now. I'll just feel better knowing I'm probably not.

well I still haven't popped open an ego carto ,,, but pretty close... I want to do it by the connector end and salvage the duck tube :D... I like them, but I am still liking the GenJoye cartos... Quick the filler don't seem to burn in the GenJoyes no matter how hard I try.. I think it is the way the wick is completely wrapped around the element.. imagine the first tie of a shoe lace around and through the element..

the only thing I think would "risk" it to burn is if you manage to smash the filler all the way against the element... but still will think they will lats....

I have one normal use that seems to be still lasting me (approx 7 days so far) but I can see how these could be disposible after time...

ego carts last.. and I haven't had any taste issues.. minor leaks... but the price is a bit high if you end up getting some that don't last... (the price will change in time)

when I get around to my next purchase I am going to try to get some ego atomizers to see what Kents review of them is all about :D

doh... lol, I've been using my blunt needle and pushing it all the way down firmly pressing the filler and then plunging. The reasoning went like this: why inject slowly and wait for the juice to sink into the filler when I can apply pressure and force inject the juice into the filler... I just sort of press, plunge until it floods the sides and then suck the excess out of the side wells.

Ok, cancel that idea. Probably just prematurely compacting the filler anyway.

not saying it will happen.. just saying it is possible... if you want to do blunt and force.. :D don't stick the needle all the way down.. I have a short plastic ..I think I showed it in my first video.. and it goes far enough.. and I just inject like it's a turkey :D...

of course try it your way on one.. for a while and see what happens.. once the carto is kaput.. rip into it :D... that's aways fun :D

Oh another thought.. if you push all the way to the bottom.. you will get alot of juice out the airway at the bottom... so half way may be the true way :D

That only happened once. Since then I fill with the bottom cap on. Push on, gently screw on 1/4 turn and it snugs right up; everything blows out the top. sometimes the kids have to take baths after my refill sessions.

In my experience, don't go too deep. You just want to clear the opening on top. No violence and no blunt instruments. You want to inject the eliquid slowly and gently from the top and let it saturate the filler. Gravity is your friend. If you use a blunt tip needle and push it all the way in, you compress the filler and force it down onto the atty coil, which is not a good thing. I'm using 20 and 18g sharp needles and I try to pierce the filler rather then to squash it. And I throw out the inner cap--this lets me top off without removing the end cap (it was Kent's idea and it works perfectly fine for me). The draw is fine and there's no leaking.

When I need to top off, I use an oiler bottle, like this one:

Racers Edge 1/2oz Bottle w/Needle Applicator Tip [RCE3000] | Glue, Oil & Cleaners - A Main Hobbies

The problem with these is that there's no telling how much you're injecting and you can't suck up the excess.

Great advise. I did a my first fill yesterday and I was so used to using a syringe on a regular carto by going all the way to the bottom along the side between the filler and case and pulling up as I filled. I tried that with these GenJoyes and got an impressive puddle on my work surface. So no more than halfway should do it. I'm going to try just going deep enough to clear the opening and see how neat that is. No inner cap needed? I like that. Those things are tiny and a delicate touch is needed to get them back in place!

After you finished filling these drag the overflow juice (if any) out with your syringe by putting it down the gap outside the filler hole to the bottom of the carto.

I thought I must have been getting close to empty on mine and filled it with 1ml juice, when I saw some juice down the side if the carto - and some even came out of the silicon base cap.

I drew up the excess and found I had only used about a 1/2ml. Surprised much. I then put the needle back in only just through the opening and tried again, but it really was full. It seems to be lasting a lot better than the 510 carto's I'm using at the moment. (note - I'm only using a 510xl battery as I'm still waiting for my eGo to arrive).

Thanks I'm curious at to what you'll find on the E2s. I won't get mine in for a couple days. I did the flavor much better on the XL cartos than than the regular -don't know why (ver.2s).

Don't really need pics just some words on the "autopsy".

Hi Katya! Waving hello!
