I was a Salem smoker, too (Salem Ultra Lights for the last few years).

If memory serves even the tobacco/menthol juices taste WAY better than the old Salems. I don't think I'd want an ecig that tasted like the real thing.

Well, it doesn't really; you know, no combustion! :)

And yet... It's really hard to describe... :)

I do them in batches of about 30 cartos, rotating two batches. First I prep 'em with 3-4 drops of distilled white vinegar on the coil and let them sit for 3-4 days, then I put them in a cup with hot tap water and let them soak for 2-3 days. After that I blow them out and let them sit in the open air for at least 2-3 days. A quick dry-burn and they're ready to refill. :)

It's easier and takes less time than it sounds once you get the routine down. ;)

Wow. Dry-burn more than 7 times? I believe you, but I never had any such luck with any of my CE-2 cartos - after about 5 dry-burns, the coil would break. Or the wick would be burnt so black there was no saving it! LOL. What's your secret?

So I don't want a device to emulate a cigarette. Mine doesn't look like a cigarette, taste like a cigarette, smell like a cigarette, feel like a cigarette, work like a cigarette, burn like a cigarette, or cost a much as a cigarette. I don't even think about them things anymore unless someone brings up the subject. I quit them things years ago and became juice junkie.

I understand, BR, but you (we here at ECF) are not nJoy's intended audience; those disposables are being sold at 7-11 stores and gas stations to attract smokers. I've tried several disposables and I have to tell you that this is probably the best of the bunch.

When I first started experimenting with e-cigs, I got a GreenSmoke kit; it was a supermini with prefilled, disposable cartomizers. It worked. I was intimidated by large batteries, refilling of cartos, etc. It took me months to even consider something like an eGo battery. Do you ever read New Members Section? Almost all of them are looking for "something that is easy to use and most closely resembles a cigarette." It takes a long time, for most people, to get to where you are. :)

Muscle memory...

I vaped NJOY back when I was first vaping. Cartos are expensive as hell, but not too bad. Since this little sample is free, I'm getting one LOL. They have really caught on here, seems like everybody - and I mean everybody local has them now - both the regular starter kits, cartos, chargers, and yes, even the disposables.. Hmmmmmmmmm... Still, I'm sticking to my Line/OG Puck. There isn't a carto out there that can compare - to me, anyway. I like massive clouds of vapour! The whole room is filled with FOG when I start vaping. Have to run the ceiling fan to dissipate it.. Still, I eNJOY holding a ciggie lookalike on occasion; it brings back the memories of when I first started vaping and all the $$ I spent trying to find that right carto for me!
Vape on, y'all!

I hear ya, Al! :D

You're amazing, Banjo. I was popping those coils, or dislodging them, every single time I tried to dry burn those things. Maybe you got a really good batch. Either that or you're a genius. :)

My forte! :)

How are you doing, BR? Feeling any better? And how's Peggy?

I'm doing a bit better all the time. Still having to wear them dang stockings to keep the swelling down in my feet and legs, though. Peggy has her ups and downs, but generally gets around better than I do.

How 'bout you?

I'm fine, BR! Thanks. Hit a few minor bumps in the road, nothing major, and I had the worst flu of my entire life--couldn't get rid of it for a month.

Other than that, just the usual worries about the kids, family, work, state of the country, paying two college tuitions (soon), the future of vaping... :) I don't want to stockpile (yet), but I'm seriously beginning to contemplate it. What if they ban it? Seems like every day somebody introduces a new bill to ban something.

Good talking to you, hon! Give my best regards to Peggy and take care of yourself.

Time to cook! :D

Hmmmmmmmmmm. If they ban vaping, it'll NEVER stick! Us vapers do what we gotta do to stay alive - literally. So we'll either stockpile, and/or start making our own stuff! That's the beauty of modds - you generally make your own stuff. Handmade and looks rough as hell, but it works! That, and there'll be a huge underground market for vaping supplies. If they couldn't win the 'war on drugs' what makes them think they can win a war against vaping?
LOL let 'em do their worst! I'm vaping till the day I die!!

They don't care about winning, they just want to fight. Yeah right. Prohibition was a great success in this country...

They way I see it, they can't legally ban batteries, they can't ban flavorings, PG, VG, etc. The only thing they could ban (or tax, which is probably what they are after) is nicotine. But how can they justify ban on nicotine when cigarettes and all kinds of NRT products are legal and widely available? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

My problem with stockpiling nicotine is that nicotine is perishable. Sooner or later it's going to deteriorate. I don't know what its shelf-life is, but I usually throw away my old eliquids (1 year or older). I bought a bottle of nic (100 mg/ml) 2 1/2 years ago, never really needed it and I ended up using it (diluted) as an insecticide in my garden... :)

Katya, you're exactly right on this! Of course, the Nicotine isn't an issue with me - I make my own juice without it. I accidentally 'overdosed' on some 36mg/ml juice over the holidays - I put it in my 9 Volt PV and forgot I'd done so - well, after 3 days I was feeling the effects! I belatedly realized that I was vaping 36mg instead of Zero mg.. DOH! Did I feel like a dumb ... or what? LOL So anyways, I'm more careful after that!

LOL it's like.. "Let's take everybody's toys away from them and watch them whine.." - whatever. Us being the innovative INSPIRED people that we are, well, we will ALWAYS find a workaround or fix for whatever problems that our (and I use this term loosely) 'elected' officials throw at us!
So... let 'em do their worst! LOL
And you can bet I'll be remembering this come Election time again...
Just sayin'
So what am I going to do?
Same thing I always do - go VAPE some more!
I guess I take my attitude from Alfred E. Neuman (of Mad Magazine fame)... "What? Me worry!" Hahahhaaaaa

At this point I'm pretty sure, even after 30+ years of smoking and 3+ years of vaping, if they banned e-cigs or made them too expensive to use I could probably quit altogether. I enjoy vaping but at this point it feels more like a habit than an addiction. My nic level is so low (10mg) I feel like I could do without and not have any withdrawl (not that I wouldn't be putting various liquids in my cartos for "testing" purposes, mind you...). :)

That's the spirit, Al. I agree. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I stockpiled on snus and dissolvable tobacco during the pre-PACT frenzy and I'll probably have to throw some of it away; it's getting old.

Oh, election time. ;)

Lucky you, Banjo. I like my nic and have no desire to give it up; not yet. Especially that it can turn out to be a cure-all miracle drug. :)
