Hey guys I have a really quick questions that maybe only people who buy their kanthal wires can answer.

For the past weeks, I've been using 32 gauge kanthal wires. Since I want a resistance between 2 and 2.5 ohms, I've been wrapping 6 coils around a 2mm silica/cotton wick. I had difficulty finding a ohm meter, so I've been just doing that and using my VV to just slowly tune the voltage to get a good vape. 4.2 volts gives me good vapor, so i guess I've been getting a resistance close to what I want.

My ohm meter got myvaporstore finally came today and when I checked the ohms, I found that those that I've recoiled were showing 3.5 to 4 ohms! Shocked but convinced the ohm meter came DOA, I plugged in stock evod heads, and found that for 2.2ohm heads, I got 2.5 ohms and for 2.5 ohms heads, I got readings of 2.7. Which is pretty acceptable for a flimsy ohm meter. But now I'm confused as hell as to whether my ohm meter actually works.

To make things worse, I randomly decided to use a lighter to burn my kanthal wires and did a recoil in the exact same way that I do. Now when I plug those newly made ones Into the ohm meter, it got readings between 1.97 to 2.4 ohms. So now it seems like the ohm meter IS working.

My question is:

1) does burning the wire (esp the ones bought from themco) make a difference in resistance? It seems to make the world of a difference from my experience so far unless...

2) my ohm meter is the one that's messing up..? My MVP2 only comes in a few days so I don't have any way of checking to verify. Im just super confused because if my ohm meter is right (which seems to be the case), how on earth was I ever able to get good vapor production off a 3.5 ohm coil on 4.2V with a vision spinner.

Would reaaaaally appreciate any help.

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
and factory coils are always +/- .2 to .4 ohms in my experience

you can always check your meter by going to radio shack and get some 1.5 - 2.5 ohm resisters and bend the leads just right (don't hold by the wires when you are testing as this will alter the readings slightly also
