What would be getting my e-cig to get hot enough it burns your lips? First few times I thought I was getting a shock somehow.
Bad cartomizer? (hope I'm spelling that right)

Its a new kit I just got this past Monday. Think the numbers were 808d-1 something like that. Other than that happening to me, I really like the kit.

This even happens when the battery has been used for a few hours .. less voltage, yet still managing to get very hot.

Thanks for any replies.

Great site, and I have only smoked 9 analog's since Monday. (usually pack and a half a day)

Thanks

Pink, it c ould very well be the resistance of your cartos. What cartos are you using/where did you get them from? The lower the resistance on a carto the hotter it will get and the more chance of burning the filler material which is definitely not a good thing. I use the KR808 on occasion and find that if I go with a higher resistance the carto remains cooler. Higher resistance cartos can be found at Vapor4Life (Cool Carts) or Vapor 9 (Turbos). Please check this thread out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizer-issues/111060-carto-master-thread-just-facts-maam-no-chit-chat-please.html

Best bet is to stick with something in the 3 ohm or higher range and you should find that the lip singe phenomenon reduced.

It sounds like you have some 1.7 ohm carto's. They burn my lips when I'm not careful or using on var volt mod also. I still like the lower resistence cartomizers as I can take a quick hard draw on a 3.7 volt pv. You may want to try to order some 2.5 ohm or 3.2 ohm cartomizers if you like longer drags. PM me and I'll send some links where you can buy them if you want.

Thank you very much for the response, and useful info. Just what I needed to know. :)
I will remember this next time I go to order.

Forgot to mention, I got the kit from freedomsmokeusa, and I have no idea what ohm I have...sorry.

I use a Delrin drip tip on both cartos and attys. This makes it a much cooler experience for me. My stainless steel tip is pretty good about not getting too hot, but the aluminum ones conduct heat a bit too well.

I also find that a bigger mod like my Silver Bullet acts like a heat sink and dissipates the heat better than a smaller device. My stainless steel PV (Provape) runs hotter since the body does not conduct heat as well as aluminum (Silver Bullet, BB).

Welcome to ECF!

Freedomsmoke is a great place to do business with and I'm sure David or Pamela would be able to let you know how many ohms. :)

Wishing you continued success with your vaping!

Yes they are great people. I will try that in the next few days. So far it has only happened to one, out of the four I have used so far (with different flavors)
