New to vaping, help appreciated

Hello e-cig forums im new to vaping and ordered my starter kit (kanger subox mini) and eshish 80%pg 0%nicotine juice. My problem is when i vape the drip tip gets so hot it burns my lips, i cant vape past 20 WATTS (even 20 burns slightly) also my device is showing 0.6 ohms 0.0Volts and 20 Watts. Why does the volts never change? is the device faulty?

The voltage indicator will display the correct voltage when actively using it aka pressing the fire button.

20 watts is getting into the hot range. You aren't being forced to vape at that power...

I never vape at that power, unless it's a dripper and high VG, and low nicotine, and, well.... you get the idea.

Hi @jsaon and welcome to ECF.

Yep, 20 watts will get a little warm - especially if you have a metal drip tip with no insulator where it goes into the atty. Have you thought about getting a delrin drip tip? Also, chain vaping doesn't give it a chance to cool down.

Sure why not? Overall it is a decent kit and Kanger does sell 1.2ohm premade coils for the STM so one does not 'have to' vape at subohm if they don't wish to.

Are you pulling hard, or not hard at all? Are you doing mouth to lung hits, or straight to lungs? Being new to vaping you kinda jumped straight to the middle to deep end with sub ohming lol.

Thanks for the helpful replies. I wanted a sub ohm because ive read they make alot more cloud. Also i'm getting use to the heat, i've been taking harder hits thats keeping the tip cool.

Yeah I was gonna say that if you are not pulling hard enough, it will get a little hot. I use the subtank nano when I'm out and about, and I rebuild the coils all the time, anywhere between .5 to 1.8 ohms depending on what kinda mood in. All of my low ohm builds tho, I never have a problem with heat, and I can take it to 30 Watts no problem. Just gotta have that airflow wide open and pull hard. Hope it works out for you!
