Here are pictures of the same coil and wick from aspire bvc. I have been using it lightly for a week. I vape about 1.5ml a day; chain vaping for 3-4 15min sessions a day. 4-6 sec drags on 4.2v (1.8ohm). It was still working fine when before i took it apart, but my concern is the burnt portion of the wick. Is this normal? and would i be able to continue using it or will it cause health problems vaping on a burnt wick?

It doesn't look burnt to me, it appears to be faintly discolored and normal for any wicking material in contact with a hot coil.
Unless you fire it dry I doubt an authentic aspire bvc would burn at 9.8w.

Even unflavored will leave a slight residue on the coil, the coil is surrounded by saturated wicking material after a vape as the coil cools it stops producing vapor but is hot enough to caramelize the juice that remains in contact with or on the coil. This leaves a residue on the coil which is transferred to the wicking material discoloring it.
Add any flavorings and the amount of discoloration will increase.
