Hello, got my first "real kit" the other day, and I believe I'm doing somthing wrong. Im using the premium cartos from litecig. Now it seems that every other hit, I'm getting a bad taste of burnt carto. Also this is my first time filling my own and upped the nic juice from my prefilled 11, to 16mg. Brand new carto tastes rough, almost burnt. Also got some juice in my mouth at times as I'm trying to perfect my filling procedures. So, is it all in my head? Bad batch of cartos? Or maybe the nic level is just very strong on my throat, causing the burning taste. Any pointers?

Hi Yankee,

I have not tried the LiteCig Premiums yet, but just ordered some today.

I'm using a "mega" carto from Nhaler on my 5v PT. Reports are they are
the same design, but perhaps different ohm ratings.

Regarding the burnt taste...

What PV are you using? 3.7v battery or a 5v PassThru (PT)?

At the higher voltage you draw more amps and power (heat),
which could lead to burning in certain juices.

However, it is more likely that you simply did not get the
cartos filled. Just dropping juice in from the top is not
enough to get them wet at the bottom very quickly.

I use a syringe to load new cartos the first time. After
which I use the drop method to keep them topped off.

Regarding the sizzle...

That's a good sign that the carto is working. :~)

My new cartos pops and sizzle more than those I've
been using for several refills. But the sound is made
from the juice vaporizing. It's a good thing.

Hope that helps.

Or pop the cap of and check if tube is centered. If its way off to one side, you can be almost shure that you've burnt through the filler. Happens once in a while..

this is very easy and is a great help. i found myself burning too many cartos, and then someone suggested checking this. you can use something like a paper clip to try to center the tube as much a possible.

also, as far as filling goes, i recommend what i (and others) call the thermometer shake. More so than the center tube issue, once i discovered this i pretty much stopped burning cartos all together.
