So starting about a day and a half ago I started noticing this either burnt or metallic taste with my favorite juice. I am using a protank 2 mini on a itaste vv 3. The head reads at 2.1ohms (it claims 1.8 on it) and my vv is set at 3.5 v and at 8 w. It is a brand new head, I just put it in this morning thinking that might have been the case, but after about 3 or 4 hits I get that off flavoring again. Am I doing something wrong or are my taste buds just saying nope? Oh, it's a coconut flavored juice that I have used plenty of times before without having this flavor.

do you notice the burnt taste when using vv or vw. 8 watts is gonna be running at 3.8v if you were trying to match it up. when you are at 3.5v you are at a much lower wattage. which may be more optimal to lower the watts down to 6.5 to balance it out a bit.

also I have read many people pull the loose top wick out, never used a pt so im just going by what i have read.

That is a good point. I am using the MVP V2 and sometimes I just have to turn the power down a bit. It's like a game of numbers and finding that sweet spot for each head. Also it seems like the juice isn't wicking very good at times and if I just add more or tip it then the flavor comes rushing back . good luck and keep on vaping

I have my SVD at 4.2v/5w and its perfect. Also, once you fill your tank up, let it sit about 5-10 mins. I just had this problem a couple days ago. And I buy attys dirt cheap on ebay, so if I get around 4 days with an atty on my Davide tanks, Im happy. Thats only $.25/day! I would rather pay that than deal with rebuilding those Protank/EVOD/Davide attys! When my wattage is as high as yours is, I get nothing but a nasty, non-flavor, burnt taste. For the juices I use and all, I like my SVD at 4.2v/5watts.
