Just a little bit ago, I went out and purchased two of loranns flavors. Watermelon and root beer. I made two ten ml bottles. Both have a horrible burnt taste to it. Im using VG primarily, the only pg in the mixture is the pg already present in the flavor. Started off with %2 on both mixtures, light burnt taste, light flavor. I went up to % 10 flavor, still getting the burnt taste, and light flavor. Went to % 15 I cant even vape it after that, burnt taste is too strong. What could
Be happening? why even at % 2 flavor am I still getting a burnt taste? Ive even tried changing the wicking and still no dice.
Btw: im using an rda, and the flavors are loranns super strength.

Where did you get the flavoring? The Loranne favoring bought at the supermarket may not be formulated for vaping and only good as a food flavoring. Where loranne bought at a vape shop is ment for vaping. I've also just read that the super concentrated version should only be used at no more then 1%. I can't confirm that being that I never used it.

A burnt taste is usually caused by over flavoring or vaping at to high a voltage.

I know you said you changed the wick but did you dry burn the coil to clean it up and burn off the gunk? Once a coil is burnt the burnt taste will continue regardless of the concentration of flavor if not properly cleaned.

Also if you wrap your coils in the low sub ohm range then even at lower voltages your coil may still be getting to hot for that particular flavoring. In that case try wrapping a coil in the 1.3 to 1.6 ohm range and see if it improves.

When you burn off the coil to clean it, do you ever brush it with a tooth brush or something similar or is the dry heat all that is needed? Thanks.

I rinse (with hot tap water), burn, and rinse again. If I want to use it right away, I will dry off the water by firing the atty until it starts to glow. If it is really gunked up, it might require rinse, burn, rinse, burn, rinse.

A dry burn is usually all that's needed but I do have a few of these little round black brushes that look like the kind of brush you would clean out a gun barral or tobacco pipe that I use from time to time when the coils are heavily caked. Careful though not to brush to hard expecially if the coil is old because the coil will break.
