Couple of weeks back, I decided to try a stock kanger coil on the pt3 mini. Was really surprised at the performance.

Lasted about 1.5 weeks before I decided to change the head to another stock head. Bam, burnt taste right away. Took out the head and examined it with a magnifying glass. The wicks were fully saturated, BUT, some parts were not touching the coil. Maybe you're having the same issue?

I've now gone back to recoiling the heads and wicking with cotton rather than the stock coils, which are inconsistent.

Slow down and give more detail.

SVD= Regulated mod - How high are you setting it?
Are you doing primer puffs to be sure the wick is wet?

What is your Mix ratio?

How long have you had the equipment?

Anywho...I never had this issue with my aerotank, even when the glass was cracked. I did, however, have it on a cheap plastic clearomizer that came with my vamo v5. I guess it was a combination of too-high wattage and not priming the wick that absolutely burned everything.

But, you could have a coil that's not as clean as it could be with a juice tarts just extra extra dark. My nautilus coil was burnt up from a super dark liquid within just a few days of using it.

You might have burned it using that high a wattage at the start. I have a 1.8 in my Aero on my SVD and vape it at 9 to 9.5 watts. I tend to step that up towards the end of the coils useful life.

The other thing is, sometimes the coils just taste like crap from the gitgo. I think it is possibly due to minor contamination of machine lubricant during manufacturing.

I started with the same setup. I do remember one particular coil giving a burnt taste no matter what I did. Swap out coils and give it a try, you could have a contaminated one or something. I recently bought a Kayfun and won't go back. Look into it, coils are super simple to make and wicking a Kayfun is about the easiest thing ever. Clones can be picked up for the price of an aerotank or similar.

I will add that the taste/smell contamination is hard to get rid of and along with the coil you should toss your remaining juice.

Whoa Dave, I get it, bad juice is bad juice,,,,,,,,,but. I hold on to them unless they taste like dish soap or bug spray. I`v got a MBV flavor, east coast tobacco to be exact, it tasted like crap in everything from a PT2 to a fogger, and especially in a dripper(?). Kinda taste that mandates you have to brush your teeth.
But now after letting it sit for 3 months and giving it a shot in the Orchid v2, its done gotten pretty damn good. I`m tripping on how radically different juices will taste in different atty`s. Just saying, :?)
