Tell us more please.
Did you also clean the drip tip?
Resistance, watts, juice, battery device, coil details, cotton details

When you replaced the cotton after the wash...was the coil visibly dirty or coated in black crust?

When drawing, compared to a cigarette, are you pulling harder and faster or about the same? How long are you drawing?
Do you direct lung inhale or into your mouth first?

Cheers

Did you dry burn the coil after removing the wick and before you rewicked? Did you soak the wick with juice before putting it back together? Have you tried reducing the voltage/wattage? Was the wick dry when you took it apart?

If you did all that and still got a burnt taste, then you may be vaping at a voltage level that the atomizer can't deal with. Publish some numbers for coil resistance and the voltage or wattage that you are vaping at.

If you didn't remove the old wick and then dry burn the coil, you may be tasting the burnt juice on the wire. Tell us about coil resistance, voltage, and wicking material.

Im currently using a subtank mini and a rba atomiser. Yesterday i vaped till there wasnt any juice in my tank and contineud vaping till the burnt taste is very strong. Ive topped up my tank fully, changed cotton and still i have the burnt taste while vaping.. any ideas how to fix this problem?

First question for me, is you have both a Subtank mini (which is a RBA), and a RBA atomizer.. do you mean you have a subbox and a subtank?

Second, usually, if you vape until you get a burned taste, then you have burned out the cotton in your RBA. Once your cotton is burned, you cannot "unburn". The burn taste will continue no matter how much cleaning you do. The cotton is burned, and you have to replace the cotton. If you're a DIYer, you can take the coil out and replace the cotton. or, you can replace the whole coil(and cotton) as the easy fix like most people do.

Like others suggested and you've already tried, I would clean the coil out and give it a shot first. On a few rare occasions, the cotton isn't burned that bad. but if you've vaped it dry, and continued, I would bet that the cotton is too far gone.

In general, vaping till it's dry is a bad thing for just such a reason. When it gets low, refill or put it down until you can refill it. Many times when it's real low, it doesn't wick properly, so replace it before it gets down to the white cotton area and you should have a coil that lasts a good while. Let us know how things go.

One possibility is that if you changed wick (necessary once you burn the old), it's packed wrong -- too tight or too much wick, so the eliquid isn't actually being wicked properly, and/or you have wick sitting on top of the coil.

Another, once you change the wick, get it good and damp with eliquid (primed), before closing the top of the rebuildable head and putting it in the tank.

(I messed up my first couple of wick attempts :) )

Good luck!

I think OP just meant using the subtank with the RBA as apposed to the ready made.
