Which coil are you using and at what power setting? I have found that if you are using the upper end of the recommended wattage ranges, you will get a burnt taste, especially if you are using a higher VG juice and chain vaping or taking extremely long hits.

On my Atlantis 1, I am using the 0.5 ohm coil at 30 watts with a 70VG juice and have no problems with a burnt taste, unless I am chain vaping (vaping one after another with a 5-10 second break in between vapes and taking a 3-4 second hit) then it will start tasting burnt after the 4th or 5th vape.

On my Atlantis 2 with the 0.3 ohm coil, I'm vaping a 90VG juice and have no problems with a burnt taste, and I am using it at 65 watts. However, I am only taking a 2-3 second hit, since any longer and the vape gets too hot. And when I start chain vaping with this at 65 watts, the tank gets pretty warm to the touch after about 7-8 vapes then I need to put it down and let it cool. I don't get any burnt taste though.

And the method I use to prime the coils is to drip 2-3 drops into the center of the coil, and then drip one drop into each wick hole, let it soak into the cotton and then repeat until I have put a total of 4 drops into each wick hole. Then I assemble the tank and take some strong hits with it with my fingers covering up the air intake holes and without hitting the fire button on the mod to pull in more juice to make sure the cotton is well saturated. In between drags I check to see the air bubbles coming out of the wick holes. I do this about 4-5 times and then when I notice that the air bubbles are either coming out a lot slower or coming out a lot smaller, then I can start vaping at a lower power setting and then progressively increase the power to my desired level.

Priming it this way, I never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so.

I have been getting this lately. Was trying max VG in my Atlantis v1.0 and it would just taste burnt. So I diluted it down to around 75 VG with a new coil and still tasted burnt.
I bought a new pack of coils and a second tank then it seemed to work fine after that. I also went back to 50pg/50vg. Not sure what the fix was but it was getting expensive trying to figure it out.
