After using a KR808 with cartomizers for a while, I wanted something with more power. I never had a problem with the cartomizers (I bought some from V4L and V2Cigs).

So, I went and bought the 3.7v E-power from Hoosier. I love the battery life, and the device itself is great. From madvapes, I bought some Boge 2.0 LR cartomizers and am having nothing but problems. I am using 70/30 juice, putting probably 30 drops in (I put drops in until the filler looks like gel after sitting a while). They work great, but out of nowhere they get an intense burnt taste and no matter what I do to clean it, etc I can't get the burnt taste out.

With my KR808, I would get an advanced warning of reduced vapor, etc to let me know when to refill. With these, it's just a quick burnt taste out of nowhere.

Am I doing something wrong or should I just try normal resistance cartomizers so that the heat isn't as intense (and thus I might get more advanced warning)?

LR cartomizers (~1.8-2.0Ω) on a 3.7v battery will produce much hotter vape than your kr808 (I assume CoolCarts at 3.1Ω) and use up juice at a faster rate.

You need to top them off more often, before you get any indication of burnt taste, or you can try higher resistance Boge cartos; I like 2.5Ω (Premium Platinum 510 cartos from IkenVape) or standard (3.0Ω) Boge.

Good luck!

You need to keep them damp, especially with LR cartos

As soon as the vapor seems a bit light or a bit dry or the tiniest bit funny tasting, or the carto starts feeling warmer than usual, take it off, pop the cap (or I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece - easier to remove) and add some juice.

Also - I recommend you try 80pg/20vg instead - the move through the stuffing a bit better and definitely keeps my carto working well over more continued usage.

Dormouse hit the nail square on the head. A damp carto is a happy carto.
