Hi,

I've had my first e-cigarette for about two weeks now and I'm very happy with it when it works. A couple of days ago I started to get dry burns alot, I'm completely new to this so this was a mystery. This morning I found a video on how to clean the clearomizer and I did so. For about 10 mins the flavor was amazingly delicious, and then after 3-4 vapes I got a dry burn. When that happens I have to either let it rest for a couple of minutes or use a gem to pull up the nipple a little bit to let more fluid in I guess.

Problem is, when I put the cap back on it forces the nipple down again and after a couple more vapes the burnt taste is there again. Is this because the 8(!) strings(what are they called?) doesn't soak properly in between? If so, is it possible to add more of those and "relace" the coils around the new string thingy again?

Also, I use this thing maybe half an hour a day, I'm guessing thats not much usage. How often should I clean it? And I read somewhere that this clearomizer can't break by dry burning, the coils and the string thingies doesn't take damage by that?

Oh, well I really have no idea. There's no information at all on my package, manual and product. How do I find out? My manual says it's the ego-t which I believe is wrong and the case looks sort of like a case for glasses.

I mostly hold it in like a 45 degree angle, closer to horizontal like you would with a regular cigarette. If I hold it so that the liquid flows straight into the coil and get no dry burns, does that mean the wick is too dry?

i use these and love them, the only thing i can think of if now wicking properly is when you take the plug out to clean/dryburn, maybe trim the silicone shorter so it doesnt interfere with the wicks :)

I've thought of that as well as raising it significantly improves the experience. If dry burning it completely doesnt help I'll do that.

The biggest thing on burnt taste with these that I have found is poor flow. I have found a clean with a dry burn helps. However the heads on the stardust are replaceable for most real stardust units. You will eventually want to replace the head. I have also seen that liquids that are too thick will cause flow problems. I would recommend clean the unit dry burn and try again. If that dose not help check the head and the coil might be damaged or miss aligned. In the second case I would replace the atomizer head.

I have to agree with crxess 100%. What I found is that mine was turning off (crisping sound stopped) after about 1 second. I took it out and cut the small V's in the sides of the cap. After taking a draw now, I will notice a little bit of fog at the top of the tank. The hits are now strong and last a long time. I can even crank the voltage up a little bit. The taste is now fantastic.

Old topic, sorry for reviving it, but...

I was having issues with burnt taste in two replacement Stardust's I just purchased from Gotvapes. Both of them would stop tasting good after .25-.5ml of juice had been vaped from the tank. I would describe it as "burnt plastic".

I searched for this issue via google, and this was one of the first results. I tried crxess's fix, and it worked wonderfully. I had to remove the silicone cap using a bent paperclip as a hook since I couldn't get the tank off the metal base. I cut two very small notches in the silicone on opposite sides of the cap (roughly 1mm cuts, maybe a bit less), and carefully re-positioned the cap so the cuts went over where the wicks feed into the center column.

My stardust is now vaping just like all the others I've used, I'm very pleased. Right now there's still a slight lingering unpleasant flavor, but doing a wash and dry burn will fix that as soon as my tank runs dry (waste not want not!).

To anyone else experiencing issues with their stardust, big props to this method.
