GREAT ! did you attempt a 'dry burn' ?

- - - -

"if I encounter a stubborn stain (old juice flavor or burnt taste),
my extreme is a 5-10 min soak in wht vinegar followed by a rinse
then 5 min soak in vodka (to remove vinegar) -- rinse/dry/vape"

it will dissipate, but I still like to rinse it off...
while vodka is wet, rinse away what it has broke down (my thoughts)

you'll notice while you play with flavor wicks, as they dry they will come apart
if you don't have any 2-3mm silica yet, you can use some sterile cotton (if need arises)

- Fiberglass wick for CE4 clearomizers
need to fill that gap, I believe you NEED the flavor wicks (some think different)

you will be an `ole hand at it before you know it... :)

Sorry; I don't know how to take pieces of quotes yet..lol... No I didn't attempt a dry burn.
I soaked in white vinegar first which seemed to clean the coil and wicks very well; rinsed with water then soaked in vodka and just let them dry from there...both my coils and wicks seemed to come back fine with better flavor, no more burnt taste and even a bit more vapor. yea, I never would've thought to not put the wicks back in...I know you can replace them; but I am not ready at this point; not sure if I will be; depends on how long after I am continued quit whether or not I will continue to vape. Not entirely sure. Maybe forever, maybe just enough to keep quit. Still new so just keeping the options open. So, not sure that I'll be rebuilding coils or replacing wicks or any of that stuff. Just cleaning and keeping batts charged for now. Thank you though :)

I would just change the wick, trying to wash them out doesn't really do it. I have learned that over and over, just replace the wick. good luck

she's new and has no supplies is why I mentioned to
be careful with the flavor wicks...

not advised vaping without...

She ;) :vapor::vapor: and you're right I do not have supplies...well, 1 charger, 2 batts, 2 tanks, a necklace to keep it safe, numerous flavors and 2 extra coils. That's a good start :)

preventative maintenance

if you taste that the flavor/vapor has gone moot on ya,
you waited too long...

I've found that if you catch it BEFORE coil failure occurs,
soaking at that point & kanger coils last a long, long time...
(before the point of dis-assembly and dry burn is needed)

my extreme is a 5-10 min soak in wht vinegar followed by a rinse
then 5 min soak in vodka (to remove vinegar) -- rinse/dry/vape

I feel long term harsh liquids, boiling water, or compressed air weakens everything (plastic, silicone)

I evolved into this technique using kanger coils and it has turned out to be working very well
and now applying it to my Aspire/Vision top coils...

Probably overkill but I do as exactly as you but soak in denture cleaner overnight then rinse. then I follow your recipe exactly.

the kanger bottom coils are some of the easiest to change. it also matters what your power source is. sometimes it's just using too much voltage. try turning it down if you have adjustable voltage and see if the burnt goes away. if not, change the coil. welcome and happy vaping
I am so sorry guys... I am using a bottom fed Kanger EVOD tank/coil system... I do have extra coils; I am just not sure the coils are bad; I ran out of juice in one that's when I noticed the 1st burned taste. Basically, I am wondering if I can clean everything out and rinse the wicks (saw a video on YouTube) and if that will take care of the burnt taste... Or is that how you tell your coils are going is that burnt taste; seems more of a wick issue than coil, but I know very little.

I usually run 10ml of liquid and then wash my heads. First leave the head under very hot running wáter and then a long soak in alcohol. I have 9 heads going and rotate them, so the soak is really long. Some people dry burn, but I don't anymore. Rotating and washing frequently makes my heads work great. I give up on a head when it shorts.

Just wanted to thank everyone again!! Cleaned my 1st one; it works much better now and tastes much better too!! Second tank is drying; that's the one I am not so sure about but after soaking it looks much cleaner so I think it'll be great!! Awesome advice from awesome people thanks :) :vapor::vapor:

Overnight Works fine, but if you can put one or two more heads a full day is more advisable. Bottom coils dry fast, so you can pull them out of alcohol, rinse thoroughly, blow vigorously into a paper towel to soak all possible wáter and vape right away. It'll vape light at first, but as it dries and soaks it'll vape better.

If you use top coils, overnight drying is a must. If you can't, wrap the head in a paper towel and squeeze as much liquid as you can. Leave overnight and it'll dry faster.
