I actually understand the "save the children" argument. They fear that normalizing vaping will increase the number of new nicotine addicts, when it has been in decline for decades. However, I don't think that justifies leaving the smokers to die off.

What are we saving them from? So they can take Xanax or Welbutrin for the rest of their lives and some drug company makes another billion dollars instead of buying some nicotine extracted from tobacco grown by a farmer? Why is it better to fill our kids up with prescription drugs rather than natural ones?

How is tobacco or nicotine any worse than the m word or alcohol or caffeine? Why is it ok to allow kids to drink energy drinks and take Ritalin or Xoloft?

I don't need a politician to save me or my children. That's what fire fighters, EMTs, police & doctors do--not politicians and lawyers!

I really bloody hope that the whole ban thing doesn't get any worse in the US, it sucks enough for you guys as it is with 95% taxes popping up everywhere, that's governments outright bending you over the table and rammin' it home. Something that does make me ponder though, i thought the US made it's decisions based on the voice of the people? How is a 95% tax legally introduced if the people didn't pass it?

Difference is in the UK they don't give 2 flying f.... what you think, if they want to ban something, it'll be banned, if they want you arrested, you'll be arrested, if they want it shut down, it shuts down. It's more of an "illusion" of a free country rather than y'know... a free country

Contrary to popular belief, we in the US are not a democracy. We're a representative republic. That means we vote for the people that represent us, and those people get to make decisions on our behalf. Sadly, "we the people" continue voting in ... hats full of empty promises and outright lies. "We the people" have only ourselves to blame if we keep voting these idgets into office.

First off I had to say that I'm surprised I got such a response. Didn't think I would actually be constructive in my venting (for once) (with no property damage). To respond to one comment I have considered writing a handful of letters and even taking off for work for a protest or be there for a hearing (we still have that right right?) (joke but you know what I mean). To respond to others I have seen twelve year olds build ....s and pipes from garbage, seen a fifteen year old make his own booze (and his parents wondered why he always had money), and I know how to build an ecig from stuff from a local hardware store (I'm sure a bunch of you do). And to whoever posted the Legal Vape 4000 Vid, I love you in a normal way =]

But yeah hypocrisy and double standards are everywhere and it's up to us (the informed) to call them out and expose them for the mean spirited nosy neighbor they are!! What we actually need to do is take all the evidence that vaping is awesome (cause it is) and promote awareness about it (like to non vapor people). That's one idea I had. Reason being if there was anyone who heard about it might as well expose them to the info that's out there. With more awareness the ignorance won't be that bad (keyword as bad). When I get the cash to have my own vaping operation I would tour around towns across the country and educate people on the subject. To be honest I believe local shops should take the time (personal opinion).

Again I'm moved, I didn't realize how awesome the community was till now ^_^

I'm not sure about your guys but most kids I know have pretty small hands. Instead of worrying about whether or not they will start vaping we should start them making coils. Think of how micro those micro coils would be! Then the schools could help their sagging budgets by selling the coils. For the sake of the children, we need to cut out recess and use that time for them to make coils so America can take it's rightful place as the dominant commercial force for wicks & coils the world over! By Junior High, we have them move on to mod and atomizer making in shop class!

This is the subject line of an email a lady named Maria Verven sent to some Minn. politicians who were being typical politicians “A ban on e-cigarettes is a vote for tobacco.” This was in an article Maria wrote on Vape News magazine. A little later in her article she quotes Dr. Igor Burstyn: "Of all the experts who have weighed in on e-cigarettes, I think the most compelling statement was made by Dr. Igor Burstyn of Drexel University in his comprehensive analysis of e-cigarette safety. He said, “I wouldn't worry at all if someone was smoking one of these by my kids. It’s about as harmless as you can get.”" Statements like this, no matter how accurate they are do not align themselves with the majority of politicians agendas which is control and tax. If it is "good" for the children and only affects smokers or people who do something that looks like smoking it is about as politically correct as it gets.

I've never been a real political person but I can see that living in Washington and being a fanatical vaper I'm about to become political as hell. I feel better now.:vapor:

The children are the smoke screen (pun intended), the real issue is money. Tax money, political support money, pharmaceutical money..... money, money, money!!

"The children" can and will try all sorts of stuff depending on their parents, peers, and individual personalities. It is the responsibility of the parents and ultimately the child as a maturing individul to make their own decisions.

Personally, as I have said on here before, IMO if a generation of vapers arose who would have otherwise been a generation of analog smokers, in all likelyhood, we have a public health victory.

Unfortunately the children are a powerful smoke screen...accusing someone of not caring about children, especially their own, is of course a strong accusation and IMO, a dirty but effective way to play the game.

Yes, I have posted about it on this forum, and it was what originally prompted me to join CASAA. I have also been spreading the word to my non vaping friends (all of my friends basically) on FB. My right to purchase a legal product online, is under fire, and I do not take that lightly, nobody should, vaper, smoker, whomever. Are we to sit by while CA rapidly chips away at what I consider a basic right (to purchase goods or services from the vendor of my choice?) As I mentioned in my previous post, it is for taxation purposes, the "for the good of the children" is bologna. It will be legal to purchase from brick and mortar shops and you bet they will tax the crap out of it. Welcome to CA.
