I use chap stick it lubricates I have a tube in every drawer and it butters up the threads nicely;-) I dont use the term my self but it dose get the point accost. I don't understand the hate for nipple top battery as there are flat top batteries. Should it be described as the battery with a little bump in the middle?

I'm a machinist by trade, and I've never heard this term used before. Buttery threads... hehe. I'm gonna have to take that one to work. I'm sure the guys will love it!

"So if you drill the hole just a little oversize, it will give you about a 70% thread. Nice and buttery!"

I was a machinist for 20 years (15 yrs in Albany, OR) and I never heard or used that description. We used a lot of shop floor terms but that wasn't among them. Some guys in Brooklyn, maybe: "Like buttah!"
