:thumbs: Yeah, thank you! I'm so looking forward to having it back.... soon? At least the shipping time should take a bit less now than around Xmas time. Just make sure that there is a private sender address on the package that'll help a lot with customs ... and then declare it ... whatever..."gift" ... "birthday present"... might be feasible? Or just, as I suggested earlier, maybe "replacement/repair free of charge" or as well: "merchandise"... something like that. Possibly & probably will make life easier over here.

OK I have it now < I put a 510 top cap on it so I can test it , I did notice on the 801 top cap you have that it is an older style top cap , the new ones have a deeper counter sink to them , the newer carto have been shorting out on the top cap and I think this may be the problem so I replaced it with a newer style one ! ! I hope this works , I am vaping it tonight all night to make sure it works . At least the unit not the 801 top cap because I do not have nay 801 attys !! Hummm gotta get some for testing .

Could it be that the "old blue" one (from October 2011) also still has the old top cap on it? (How would I notice the difference anyway?) Because yesterday I seemed to have some contact problems on it - first made sure that it was not the atty, so switched it over to the new blue one, and there it worked fine.

Then additionally changed the batteries (powerizer) for normal 16340s which are a tad longer, and these normal ones seem to also help better with making a stable contact. I thought that maybe after some time the spring in the bottom cap, when it has been used for a while, might get a bit too soft to press these shorter batteries properly towards the contact unit 'up there'. Could that be possible?

No the top cap has a taper to the inside of it that taper is not deep enough after 1.5 yrs !! the carts changed AGAIN! so what we do is pull apart the top cap and increase the taper depth , I assume you need a newer one for that unit as well ???

I am vaping the purple one with NO issues no false fires nothing , works 100%

OMG --- guess you will just have to send it back as is, Mike. And all the time I've been missing it here for nothing. Just wonder what happened there - must have been an evil spirit in my house! :blink:

~~~
As to the top cap issue: that doesn't seem to affect my A2s (I never used the BP with any cartos so far). Instead, I looked into that one pair of Powerizer batteries under which I experienced what I thought was a contact problem.
It now seems that one of the Powerizers is "bad" ... though it's loaded and looks fine ... when I put the pair in, one of the two batteries loses 0.20 Volts for just a few pulls which I made, while the other one only lost 0.05 or so. It also got slightly warm. So now I put this powerizer aside and will try and see if it's still usable with another application (just can't think of anything in my household which would use 16340s generally).
If I come to the States this year again, I will take some time and maybe even spend a few days in California, so we can have a look into all my BPs.... but that is atm just a theoretical thought... :D
