Becareful I posted something VERY similar to this on another thread and was attacked and called a Racist and 4-5 pages of people with Perfect experiences with getting products from China were posted...

I would think that, by this time, people would know me WAY better than to accuse me of being a racist.

I know, that is BS. People who advocate buying "American" aren't anymore racist then those who do not.

As far as lying or trying to trick them I don't think people will have much luck. What are you going to say?:

"Yeah uh for my sample order I want 1 901 kit, 1 bottle of menthol, 1 bottle of marlboro - if it's good I'll take 1000"

Deception is frowned on in all countries. I used the truth "I'm an end user who may decide to sell in the future, I'd be spending 100-500 the first time, what can you do for me?"

Done deal, price list, follow up email asking if I'd like to do a smaller sample order.

It's sort of telling when Dekang comes on here and says in essence "Hey, we make all of it, screw the resellers just buy directly from us, we'll even try to get our resellers to keep the packaging just to prove to you it all comes from us".

I would be ...... off if that happened to me, but I guess it's just a different custom. As a consumer it's great, it will work out for me.

Though as a seller I think I'd be more inclined to make the sht from the ground up, contact other US vendors and say "Ok, here's what I got - and I wont cut your throat or "short stop" you".

I'm not here to debate pricing, international trade policy, customs brokers or FDA seizures but I do want everyone to keep some things in mind.

1) When you buy from China, the stuff has to be shipped here. That's more money.

2) When you buy from China, the stuff has to pass customs.

3) When you buy from China, the stuff could get seized, lost, held over, etc...

4) When you buy from China, you may never see your product and there's bugger all you can do about it.

I buy from U.S. suppliers for the peace of mind. When I order something from a US supplier, I KNOW I'm going to get it. It's not going to get snagged by customs or FDA investigators, it's not going to end up being shipped in the same container as 500 kilos of narcotics and I'm going to get it very quickly.

Order from whomever you chose but...caveat emptor.

Carry on.

At least if you got one of those packages by accident you'd certainly be able to make your money back.:p

A couple notes following up to my previous post:

When I contacted SLB I simply told them I was interested in buying a few DSE901 kits and a few spare atomizers. I did not pretend to be anything in particular, and they seemed to have no problem with that.

Since contacting them, I received a couple dud manual 901 batteries. The US based reseller I buy from (Taras at Electronic Ash) was wonderful about swapping them out in a hurry before I leave the country next week.

Given the somewhat unreliable nature of the product, customs, and dealing with international customer service, I have personally decided to continue ordering domestically. The convenience and support is worth the few extra bucks for me.

Other folks may feel differently, though. Everyone is welcome to make their own decision.

Every manufacturer I've ever dealt with will gladly sell me 'seconds' at a reduced cost.

SLB is no different. When you have warranty problems (and you will) they will help you with all the slow boat from China that you can stand.

I will gladly give money to the suppliers that take the time to put up coherent websites, and send the correct stuff that arrives in days instead of weeks. To me, that's what I'm paying for. It's THEIR jobs to mess around with SLB, DeKong, Boge, Joye, etc. and wade through all the bs with messed up orders, customs fuzzups, warranty parts, and all the rest. They earn every dime they can get from me.

That's all I have to say in this spamorific thread.

I totally agree. Not looking forward to the ban that's inevitably coming. Not only will I have to deal with China, I'll have to deal with underground China which I imagine doesn't include a terribly good return policy.:(
