I was wondering some flavors, such as flavor west has concentrated flavors like their kiwi. How do you use a concentrated flavor verses a flavor that doesn't say concentrated. Am I supposed to dilute it in vg or pg liquid before I use it then use like say for example, if i want to use 5% kiwi in a Strawberry kiwi vape. Am I supposed to dilute it then use the dilution at 5% or just use 5% right out of the concentrated bottle. Sorry just a little confused. Thanks

There is probably no standard. I confronted the same thing starting to mix. My first mix with concentrated flaoring I added 3%. It was fine but later I found 1% was even better. May be your kiwi flavoring will taste better at a lower percent than you speculate. What probably spoils most recipes is too much flavoring so start very low. It's easier to add more than take some out.

Other than a few rare exceptions, you don't need to pre-dilute Flavor West or any of the other major flavoring brands. Just use them straight from the bottle in whatever percentage you want. The VG/PG you mix them with is all the dilution they need. So in the case of your FW Kiwi, 5% straight out of the bottle. :)

Example of a rare exception (for me)...TFA Red Hots. I love this stuff, but can't use it straight out of the bottle. It's potent to the point of being harsh and unpleasant, even at 1%. Tastes much better (and actually becomes combinable with other flavors) when it's pre-diluted. I just cut it with 80% PG, others may have a different technique.

The only type of flavor I have ever diluted first before using is cinnamon.
When a flavor says concentrated it just usually means you would use less than one that isn't concentrated. But in the end it will all depend on your tastes. Concentrated flavor you usually start with 3 - 5%. It also helps to read the descriptions of each flavor(if available on vendors site). Sometimes they list suggested usage. Another way is to read any reviews on the vendors sites for that flavor as often the customer is saying what they used.

They're all "concentrated," even when they don't say it. It just means that this is an ingredient, not a finished product. You wouldn't use it as-is, in any application except to produce something else (perfume, cookies, e-liquid, etc., but you wouldn't/shouldn't spray it on yourself, or eat it, or vape it, straight out of the bottle.)
