Folks,

I have played around with mechs for a while and I have been using them almost exclusively at home as of late.

I have Chi You, Nemesis and Stingray clones and all are solid. I also have a few clones coming from fasttech (King, Lunar, couple more Nemesis and a few others).

I really want to add an authentic to my collection. I understand that the price delta might not justify the authentic expense, but I am set on buying an authentic.

I couldn't be bothered with a hybrid, so I am leaning towards a Nemesis. I like my Nemmy clones and just think if I go authentic, the Nemesis will check all of the boxes.

I can get an authentic Nemesis for a very fair price from a retailer that I trust completely. I physically checked out the different Nemesis models and am impressed with the workmanship and quality.

Yes, I know that I can buy 15 clones for the same price, but it isn't about that.

Would you go for the Nemesis or is there something else waaayyyy better in the $150-ish range?

Again, I don't care if your Nemesis clone blows away any authentic. I will have 3 Nemesis clones in hand soon, so I can do my own comparison if I pull the trigger on the authentic.

Thx!

IMHO, 150$ for a nemesis is a rip off.
As nice as they are, they arent worth that premium money in today's market.

For that price range look at an authentic GP.
Better quality, far better switch, some of the best customer service in the industry, and an all around better mod.

Have you tried an Akuma or an Emma? Funny enough, a GP was the backup plan.

Check classies too have seen some authentic ones on there for mech's.

Check the web for better deals.
The classies have ridiculous pricing for the most part, on used gear.

My wife has an Emma. Nice mod but it has a threaded delrin piece in the switch which is a turn off for me.
The Akuma is okay, Ive worked on a few, but quality isnt really better than a clone except for the cool presentation box.

For the money, IMHO the GP is hands down better than both of those.

You wont find any GP owners complaining.

Something like the Akuma? Have you used one of these?

Just thought I'd throw this out there... I have an Akuma clone which lacks reverse-threading on the top pin, and since it's the same thread pitch as the switch assy, it means they're constantly turning with each other when you're trying to put the damn thing together. For this reason I never use it. Getting proper compression on the battery contacts is hit or miss. Can't speak to all Akuma clones, but the authentic uses reverse-threading, as it should be. I've had a few other clones that fail in this department and that was it for me. Direct-to-battery mods ever since.

So my Akuma V-Clay came today and it is going right back in the mail to be exchanged.

It is absolutely beautiful! It looks just incredible. Unfortunately, both the top and bottom pins are not adjustable in any way and it won't fire ANY atty with either a flat top or button top 18650 battery.

I am replacing it with 2 HoH mods that are on sale. I like the Zen stuff so I'm sure these will be great mods.

My SS PAPS has shipped too, so I am now broke, but will have some killer mechs!

You guys and gals are great! Thx!
