Buying or Making My Own

So with my next paycheck my vape budget is going to be very tight, I have everything already planned out and just am making minor adjustments... On top of the hammer mod, and kayfun clone I'm getting, I will also be spending 15-20 dollars on a big bottle of juice I know I will like. At the same time I am very interested in making my own juices. So it's either

Buy a big bottle of juice I know i will like (seeing as i'm about to run out)

or take my chance and make my own juices

Which one would be more cost effective. How much does it roughly cost to get everything I would need? And considering I have a PG allergy. Could I do this for a cheaper price?

Making your own is a lot cheaper. A couple tools needed.

I keep large bottles of PG w/nic and VG. Just add flavors.

That said, my startup costs were much higher than what you have budgeted. Also, it took me a while to make something I was happy with.

Startup around 75 bucks...just guessing I'm on my phone but you could make at least twenty times more juice...and for the record...my first mix was 100 times better than what I was buying for my taste

You will need something to tide you over whilst your juices steep, or maybe start with some simple fruit flavours that won't require steeping, if you like fruit flavours that is...I'd wait if i were you, and maybe buy a few bits at a time until you have everything you need.

You definitely need some juice to vape on while working on finding a diy juice you like. The day I ordered my diy supplies, I bought a small bottle of my ADV.

^^ This. IMO, if you're going to get into DIY, you should do it so when your budget allows you to get the needed equipment, unflavored nic base, as well as how ever many flavorings you want to start with. Also do it when you've got enough ready to vape juice on hand, as steeping properly is absolutely critical to the success of what you make.

I'd also spend some time looking around in this sub-forum to avoid common/costly first timer mistakes. Having the right information going into it can help ensure you get the most bang for your buck.

I would suggest that think long and hard before DIYing. While in the long run it's cheaper, but you need to make sure that you could dedicate at least once a week or every two weeks several hours to mix and bottle. PLus, it will take some time to get it right, and find some recipes that you will like. If you have the time go for it. You could also order a small amount here and there as you go.

^^ Ya, time and patience are definite pre-reqs for DIY. That and humility, because chances are good it will take you a bit to get things right.

Yeah, my startup was around 70-80 dollars with only a few flavors... I have now spent around 150-200 on multiple flavors that I want to toy with. Should have 12 more flavors and more vg arriving tomorrow... It becomes sort of an addiction.

Edit; with the startup I got about 5-6 different flavors, 250ml pg, vg, and 100mg nic. 9 syringes, 12 different tips, and probably some other stuff I forgot about.

well a lot also depends on what are your current flavors, what do you vape?
if it is a simple flavor you could start low and have good success quick

If you start simple it's doable at a reasonable price. You can build on it little by little each month or however you do it. I'm on a very restricted income so I had to start small but now have a large amount of goodies to experiment with and a stash of nicotine. Every once in a while I have to pick up some pg/vg and I'll buy some nic every other month for stocking purposes. No rush, that's the key.

Well my current juices are max VG blends due to my PG allergy. Vanilla and chocolate are my favourite, I loooove dessert and bakery juices. I already have a big thing of VG i used to thin out a particularly strong flavoured juice.
And as far as my budget goes it's restricted... Think broke college kid budget

I started out pretty small but diy is just so much fun.
I figured how much I was saving from analogs and then went a little crazy. I now have 52 flavors most from WL 9 from Capellas and 16 on the way from Inawera. Also I figured how much I was saving from buying from a shop.
Started with small batches read a lot on here and my creations are getting better all the time.

Knowing what you like is a good place to start when ordering flavors. It's also important to do some research here in the forums in the DIY section about percentages and personal experiences with certain flavorings. I'll keep looking around cuz' I thought I saw something with some TFA (TPA) percentages as well.
