I think it's perfection now I don't think you need to accent the vanilla any more then it is. I think the vanilla enhances the wood tone and any more may change that.

Gotcha, good to know. I just vape this stuff all day. Very unique out of the barrel for sure.

Taste each flavor individually. They most likely will taste very different then they smell.

I agree and that is the plan. I do have a cheap single coil rba I can use for that. Going to go to town taste testing tonight because these are very different from the reserve flavorings.

Got it in Muggs, unfortunately I can't taste it.

My nose is stuffed and the flavors are just too muted, I will give a proper review soon as my taste comes back. I thought my ADV was tasteless but it was hard to tell as it is kind of tasteless after vaping it for days. Tried other flavors and nothing is coming through properly

Guess it gets to steep for a couple more days. From what I can smell it is wonderful.

*edit*
My wife said it tastes like vanilla cappuccino but she's a smoker.

Just wanted to update my evaluation. I decided to try the oak barrel mix running the gammet of different ohm coils and different voltages. Starting with a 1.8ohm wrap on my kayfun then going to a 2.4 ohm T3 then to a 2.8ohm dripper using a voltage range from 3.0v to 4.0v stepping every .2 volts. I was extreamly surprised that the taste stayed constant through the entire voltage range and also stayed consistant in all 3 coil devices. This I haven't seen very offen. Normally you'll get a considerable fade in flavor at lower voltages or a burning taste at higher voltages as well as drastic differences in taste from device to device. The flavor was not as intense at lower voltages or higher ohms but the intended flavor did always come through and never tasted burnt at higher voltages. This is the sign of a really fine juice.

If I had to pick a recommended device I would have to pick a kayfun at 2.2 - 2.4ohms at 3.2 - 3.4v (VAMO 4 VVB)

What a great review Danny thank you. No problem f1 enjoy it when you can. I've learned that these fine not overpowering flavors from the barrel always leaves the desire for more without getting sick of it. Like Danny said. I can't say the same for the non barrel it can be sweet to the point you want to mix a tobacco with it yet it's the same batch.

I try to be through in my reviews. But you are correct. The mix works perfectly for the barrel application but needs tweeking if you do not use the barrel. This in itself tells you the barrel makes a drastic difference. The barrel does add that nice woody tone but more importantly adds a richness, smoothness and a uniformity to the entire mix. I guess you can say the barrel is what pulls it all together.

I agree 100% danny. Well that solves the mystery of barrel steeping. It does have an affect on the steeping of e-liquid and a good one at that.

OK update on the whiskey cola. The whiskey tastes much better than it smells for sure. I had to bring the cola down in samples 2 and 3 it was taking over the juice a bit.

Good call and good luck, any questions let me know.

This 555 flavoring I have isn't that great in my opinion. I made sample 4 with the East Coast tobacco in place of the 555 so we will see how that affects the juice.

That stuff is not very good. I think in tiny percentages, it might work as a back note, but it's just awful at full strength by itself. One tobacco I have found that I really enjoyed was TFA's Red Oak. It's mild, perhaps even a bit sweet, but it doesn't have the cat urine thing going on. Even with that, I've also found that TFA's Black Honey Tobacco at a very small percentage (1-2%) is a fantastic additive to give your juice a nice tobacco taste.

Where's the 555 from?

Have you tried the hangsen NO.5 or highway? You can get these at RTS.

Make your own NET then toss that in the barrel.

That's an idea as well.

OK so I have landed a good whiskey cola recipe. The 555 flavoring was killing the first 2 samples. Sample 3 is going in the barrel today with samples starting after the 1st week and every 3 days after that until steeped just right. I know it has the least amount of color right now. The 555 made the first two samples darker. Samples 4 and 5 were just variations of 3 but 3 nails it. Here are pics of 3 of the samples and the recipe.

(24mg) Nicotine E-Liquid (65PG, 35VG), 12.15 ml 243 drops 81 %
Whiskey, 0.45 ml, 9 drops 3 %
Bourbon, 0.45 ml 9 drops 3 %
Cola, 0.45 ml 9 drops 3 %
East Coast Tobacco, 0.6 ml 12 drops 4 %
Coumarin Pipe Tobacco, 0.6 ml 12 drops 4 %
Maraschino Cherry, 0.3 ml 6 drops 2 %

18 mg Nicotine per ml - 73.75%PG - 26.25%VG

...........

I'll char them myself and load up each type of wood in it's own glass jug. HJow's that for a tasty spread. Question would be do I use the same base liquid in each or use flavorings that compliment each type of wood?

Thinking of using Ball canning jars. You can get 12 for $9.99, have pleanty of room for wood and liquid, they are glass and air tight sealed.

.........

I'm anxious to see how this turns out as this puts the whole thing in my budget range lol. At one of the oak chip sites they were saying that the chips provide more surface area and work better than the oak barrel. Of course, they were trying to sell chips lol, but I'm hoping that's true anyway.

Here seems to be a decent price on chips but I didn't check shipping. But since I live out in the country (God's country, some say), I'll just make my own.
