Buzz button fix

My button fell off after a month of owning it. I have #1,230 (pretty cool num imo), i cut a pencil eraser and covered it with electrical tape before i got so very lucky and found the real button. I get mad at this thing a lot. I'm a poor hard working college student who has to do a lot of bad jobs. I guess i may have contributed to the thing failing, but it has just went downhill lately. It's 8 months old, and i have to split hickory wood by hand and chop trees, work on cars, go to school etc. Anything for money, i live in alabama, it's 100degrees every day it seems like with a heat index of 210 :( not really but i do get very sweaty often.

With all the saw dust, mud, grease, and dirt all over me i can udnerstand it failing in my pocket i guess. The tank cartos usually only last a day before they're broken in half and come apart revealing their guts of fluval and wires. The buzz pro has done good in that respect i suppose. but now it works like crap, the dial don't work right, it can be on red and hit at 3.2, sometimes im lucky and after scraping it, blowing it out and cleaning it good i can maybe get it to hit at 4v or a lil higher all the way past the red. The end cap screwed up and is a pita to say the least. I could never afford a backup while it was under warranty to send it in, and now im looking at having to buy another unit and get by with this buzz that works like crap. I'd like to buy another one, but the openings for the voltage dial allows dirt in and it's just gona tear up again. The end caps were never up to expectation and im not gonna jump on the provari bangwagon and get a 300 ecig that is no better than the others. Just really fed up with all the problems ecigs have in general, miss that analog that never failed. I don't actually miss analogs, i hate the smell and haven't smoked one, i just missed the hassle free use of them besides the occasional lighter dieing or jumping in a swimming pool and soaking my pack of cigs.

Eh, i may buy another buzzpro, i did like it an awful lot but im just screwed atm. The button isn't even an issue imo, find something to jab in there and click it. I'd love for that to be my only problem with it. If i do get another one, im gonna make a sleeve to protect the insides of it. Looks like i'm back at square one in the vape game, all over again.

Pocket, I understand broke all too well :( A PCB replacement is $35.95+shipping and you can use the discount code "ECF Buzzkill" (without the quote marks) for 7.5% off. I could lend you my BP beta unit as a back up for you to use while yours is getting fixed if you like.

It might be a pain in the ..., but you could put your BP in a ziplock bag while you work to help keep the crap from getting in it. Just a thought.

How sweet of you. Thanks but i don't like borrowing other peoples stuff :) I'll find a way to fix it, in a month or so maybe i can have the money to replace it and then i can spend some time cleaning with alcohol and going over it with detail. I know there is really no major damage, or else it wouldn't work when i tinker with it. I'm glad to know there are people in the world who care, and i'm not at all mad at buzzkill, i know he can't condition his device for my life. It's just when you go without nicotine it's hard not to be angry at everyone.

EDit: the ziplock bag idea isn't so bad, i think i'll try that in the future, thx

It's my pleasure to make the offer, and if you change your mind don't hesitate to ask! I have 2 BPs and an original Buzz as well so I don't mind at all.

You're alcohol bath might just fix yours. It's not something we recommend with the BP like we used to with the original Buzz since the new PCBs are coated to help keep juice from frying them. Also the alcohol gets in under the heat shrink on the hot wire and you have to make sure it's good and dry before trying to fire it up. A can of compressed air helps blow the crud out and dry things a little faster.

The ziplock idea works for me if I'm doing something like playing in the muddy garden :) Just poke your BPs head out and hit the fire button thru the baggie...goopy hands stay on the outside of the bag. Ghetto cover LOL

Thought i'd update my button saga, finally found something suitable, took the plunger out of a syringe cut it down to fit over original button, works a treat and saves worrying about button falling out again

How'd you get that to stick. It looks really great. I've never had a button fall out, but I have a deep finger nail impression in my button that makes me miss the old black hard plastic button from the first run original Buzz.
