Buzz, have you found anyone yet. I design websites and do print ad's and one of the services I offer is catalog photos. I have taken catalog photos of hundreds of products and provide them in both low res and hi res for web and print. If you have not found anyone yet, PM me and I will give you links to some of my work!

Mike make sure whoever makes your banners sizes the properly or the noobs will have a terrible time with them. For off ECF linking 400x78 for directly uploading to ECF max is 400 by 65 pixels or 24.4 KB.

Frankly off site linking is better since you get ALOT better resolution and can use transparaency. When uploaded to ecf they get converted and downsized.

Heres a tutorial I did on offsite linking

ECF defines the size , I think it is 728x90

According to the upload page for signatures the limit is as quoted below

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 400 by 65 pixels or 24.4 KB (whichever is smaller).

The one in your sig is 400x49

The one in mine is 400x78

You can get slightly higher images and ALOT better qualityh by linking to photobucket or a similar service.

Buzz, they can easily be played with to see if this is the case once they have been created. That being said rules tend to me more strict for banners then a signature. A person does not pay to post their signature, with a banner they are charging you for a certain amount of "landscape" and some might get moody if you if you find a trick to aquire more. I know if I was charging someone for 400 x 65 pixels worth of space on one of my sites and they found a way to make it larger I would be put off for a number of reasons. 1.) it might mess with my sights design 2.) It is not fare to other advertisers who follow the rules.

I do not suggest photobucket to host the banner, I suggest hosting the image on the server where your website is being hosted.

We could talk more about it at a later date, just wanted to throw in my two cents!

I may be mistaken here, but I thought Mike was talking about a banner ad, not a signature banner.

I don't see the banner ads for 2 reasons 1) I use adblocker with Firefox and 2) I believe that you don't see them when you are a supporting member. Before I installed Adblocker, I used to see the banner ads between some posts.

Bovinia, yes we are talking about a banner add and not signature. That is why I cautioned him that while there might be ways to cheat the system and get a bigger signature, if it could be done with the banner ads, it might not be wise. Now if quality is better hosting it else where that would be worth trying!

I do not see the banner ads either, I do not use a blocker and I am not a supporting member. Just made senior member yesterday from chatting with you guys! But I did visit the site on my other computer yesterday by clicking on an email... I was not logged in and noticed a banner. So maybe they are only seen for guests or people with really low post counts. It is also possible that my husband installed some sort of blocker without telling me, but he would have done it on both my computers so I would not have seen the banners when I was not logged in on the other.

Might be right. He might be looking for a header for his webpage versus forum advertisement. Ads on his site or other websites can be pretty much whatever he wants :p

I will go back to my corner where I belong......

Aww don't go to the corner Ruppy! The reason I mentioned it at all is because I noticed the big difference in the sizes that you were talking about vs. what Mike mentioned :)

That's interesting Moo, I always saw a banner add on each page, right between the first post and the 2nd post on the page. I started using the Adblock Plus about 6 months ago so I have no idea if the forum admin changed that or not.

With photoshop I can show Abraham Lincoln vaping in a Lincoln Continental at the Lincoln monument sitting on a Lincoln penny if you want.
What? You don't like Lincoln? LOL :):):)

It was getting slow around here again so I thought WTH.

He is looking for his advertising layout photos that will probably go in more than one place. Like his products picture, Home page header etc. He needs a photog that is good and wants to trade as I undestand it.
