Haven't had a problem yet, but was wondering about this as well since this will be my first winter vaping. I work mostly outdoors and go through a routine every fall to ensure that the equipment I use is ready for the cold. Keeping the vape gear warm by keeping it 'close to the heart' is what I'm thinking. A breast pocket sewn inside the clothing with a velcro closure for safety? Any other suggestions for cold-weather vaping?
A bit extreme for sure, and I apologize to the OP if this comes across as thread-jacking.

I also work outside and on my first winter vaping ,at work i use an ego c twist on a lanyard so i plan to keep it close to the body heat and maybe thinning some of my thicker juices but this is all trial and error for me too

All speculation.

Op made a general statement and questioned function.

What exactly is your THINNEST e-liquid?
What exactly is your Cold Exposure?

20 Degrees outside will have little effect on Vaping inside a warm home or office.

Also Coil Direction should not be an issue. The only issue is Wetting the Wicking Material.

Long story but roofers were working on my shop last week and I think they caused a leak in my chimney flashing. It snowed Friday night and water is running into my furnace. I had to work this weekend so for the past two days my Silo has been sitting on a desk at near 0°C. I'm using 50/50 juice and haven't noticed anything other than how cold the Hana clone box is.

Is the cold temp in your case maybe a coincidence? How old is your coil?
