Are those also turkish?
The tobacco components in casa are different from the ones in cherry and maple tobacco...
Don will tell you that he creates a handful of different tobacco bases through different processes.
Pretty sure the tobacco in casa is only used in casa...

Pretty sure that tangy is the absolute - I believe it is the same tobacco base as his signature bacco.
I like that tangy taste... it's more prominent before it steeps...

Thanks so much for your help tango. Trying to figure this out has been driving me nuts! So now I'm on a quest for vendors that don't use ta.

@Mike - I'm sure you will love it. Most people do. I'm just the oddball!!!!

My personal theory is that its jalepeno. :thumb:

I finally got a bottle of Casablanca after reading reviews claiming it's a good straight-up tobacco juice. I just tried it after steeping for a week and there is an overwhelming flavor of paprika or similar spice. Am I crazy? The flavor is so strong and distinctive to me that I can't believe it's not mentioned in every description of this juice. I can see me eventually liking this, but it's a surprising taste at the beginning

I had known about super-tasters, but i hadnt heard of the test. thanks for that. i think im a super taster! :headbang:

About a year ago there were a few people who were tasting pepper in Casablanca, steeped or not. I have never tasted anything even close to that, I get a complex sweet tobacco with cocoa on the exhale and a turkish tobacco aftertaste on my tongue that last a few seconds. It may just be a difference in taste buds. Perhaps it's not for you.

I read recently that you can use blue food coloring to see if you are a super taster. Apparently it doesn't stick to taste buds, so if your tongue doesn't turn blue you are one and if you tongue is all blue you are missing out on a lot of flavor. I haven't tried it, but may buy a few blue popsicles next chance I get.

Here's an online article about it. Are you a Supertaster? Mindless Eating & Your Taste Buds | Psychology Today

i guess blueberries would be the closest.

blue is supposed to be a minor appetite deterrant. thats why the "blue plate special" was supposed to "fill you up" on less food.

its also why you dont typically see blue used in signs for restaurants. yellow, green and red are mild appetite stimulants. take a look at your local fast food signs. they all use red and yellow.

it's a turkish tobacco flavor... you won't find anything else like it in don's profile... however, you will find similar tones in almost any turkish tobacco vape...
that flavor does have more exotic tones... I used to vape it religiously... never got pepper from it... then... one day I started getting a pepper taste... it never went away - I asked don what changed and he said nothing...
I trust don... so I can only conclude that it was I that changed.

In 2+ years, I have noticed that my taste changes...
some examples...
1. Hated menthol for the first year and a half... now it's all I like...
2. Vaped vapor station juices like there was no tomorrow... and one day... after a sizable order... all of my 6 flavors were suddenly too strong for me... unvapable. nothing changed with VS... it was me.
3. same with halo torque... loved it to death and out of the blue... it became unvapable to me...
4. I have this issue with boba's... some days it has no flavor... some days it has too much...

all I am saying is that what we already know - taste is subjective... and it changes... inexplicably... despite what some of the ranting fools are currently professing in their begging to be epic threads... and they'll learn this themselves at some point...

so, you taste pepper? me too... I long to be back in the zone where all I taste is the cocoa... I am sure that it will happen again for me...

Not sure if it is the power of suggestion (I hate this thread), but my newly opened bottle of Casa 2/12 tastes like pepper. When I first opened it, it was burning my throat and mouth. Casa has been my favorite for over a year. I've vaped hundreds of ml of the stuff. Never tasted the pepper at all and now it is the overwhelming flavor. It's calmed down a bit now that the bottle has air in it or I am getting used to it.

I still like the underlying flavor and so far can tolerate the spiciness, but I too miss the cocoa. This is so freaking weird that a subtle flavor like cocoa can turn into hot pepper.

I think the recipe may have changed. My first two bottles of Casablanca were great, with just tobacco and cocoa flavors, and a little hint of something in the smoky pepper area. The last one I received just tastes overwhelmingly of green peppers (bell peppers, maybe), vaped with the same hardware as before. It's been aging for three months now and hasn't improved a bit. I guess I am an ex-fan of this juice.

Tastes the same to me as it always has. Anyone who doesn't want their Casa, and has it in at least 18mg, would you be willing to pif (pay it forward) it to a poor college student? It's me and my girlfriend's favorite and we never have enough money to keep it in stock. Any and all generous souls, PM me. I'd gladly pay the shipping costs.

Casablanca: Well, I got my 10ml sample and it has been in my rotation for the last 10 days.

The VERDICT: There def is a subtle sense of "jalapeno" - I get no 'cocoa' - and a tobacco base. I LIKE IT! :D

YAY!!! So, I've got ANOTHER juice to reorder.

Just for kicks, I also ordered "SMOKE" from BWB. The first few puffs remind me of the liquid smoke I use when cooking, but I really LIKE IT, TOO!

MIXING Casablanca and Smoke is probably my favorite!

THANKS to all the folks above who inspired me to try Casa! :D
