After reading numerous rantings and ravings over Backwoods Brew juice I finally decided I needed to try them for myself. I ordered on 4/5/11 and they have a date of 4/6/11 on the label, so they've been steeping for a bit over 2 weeks. It's nice to have a manufacture date so if they get put in the stash for a while I still know when they were produced. I'm vaping them on a Silver Bullet @ 3.7v on a 2.0 ohm atty. I ordered the following, all @ 24mg with their standard 70/30 mix ratio:

Applewood - this has a musty, earthy, woody flavor to it that overpowers everything. The apple flavor is barely noticeable, but there. TH is good, as is vapor production. I'd rate TH at a 4.0, and vapor production at 3.5, and flavor 2.5, out of 5.

Maple Tobacco - this one also has the musty, earthy, woody flavor which is very strong. The maple sweetens it up a bit, but I wouldn't say it's a sweet vape at all. TH is about a 4.0, and vapor production is 3.5, and flavor 2.7.

Cherry Tobacco - same musty, earthy, woody flavor but the cherry is more noticeable than the apple in Applewood. It's not sweet, nor sour, just there. TH is 4.0, vapor production is 3.5, flavor 2.5.

Waffle - tastes as good as any waffle juice I've had, but it's not spot on with the flavor. The maple flavor comes through a bit to let you know it's supposed to be sweet, but it isn't. TH is a 3.8, vapor production is a 3.8 also, and flavor 4.0.

Vanilla Bean - it's definitely vanilla and a decent one at that. Not sweet, not harsh, just vanilla. The flavor really comes out on the exhale. TH is a 4.0, vapor production is a 3.8, flavor 4.4.

I found I'm not a fan of BWB tobacco flavors. It doesn't taste like any tobacco flavor I've tried before, and I've tried quite a few. Since taste is very subjective I can see where some people would like it, I just don't. I wouldn't order tobacco flavors from BWB again.

The Waffle and Vanilla Bean were both pretty good, and I ordered 30ml bottles of those because I figured I'd probably like them. I'll vape them until they're gone, just for a change of pace. I already have a vendor that produces very good Waffle and I prefer it to the BWB version. Same with the Vanilla Bean.

I doubt that I'll order from BWB again. They make some good juices but I can get equal or better from vendors I already use on a regular basis. These are my opinions and I'm sure some will agree while others will disagree, but as I stated before taste is subjective.

I'm done ordering from there too, makes me fart too much.

I'm thinking it might not be the juice...

Are you using some kind of rubric? 4.4? 3.8? it's as if you are trying to legitimize your subjective review with some kind of mysterious objective rubric...

It would be more helpful to get a frame of reference.

Like... I love BWB... and want2vape, Vaperite, alien visions and intellicig... They share some characteristics that I look for in a juice... a bit less artificial... mellower... good performance...

If you were to tell me that you liked fsusa, purevapes and KBV, I wouldn't be surprised that you didn't care for the BWB...

I have to agree with the OP. BWB and my taste buds just don't get along. It is purely a personal taste thing...seems to be the base I don't really like so much, because I have tried several flavors from BWB, and almost all seem to have the same underlying flavor that is just not my cup of tea. The Espresso was pretty darn good tho...did not have that same base flavor to me.

The service and ship/delivery time was great. They are a good company with flavors that make a lot of folks happy.

I don't like lobster (real ones!) either. Many, many people do. Just the way it is.

Just wondering if all of the BWB juices are super thick, I've got a bottle of Malty and while I love the taste it won't feed in my UFS because it is so thick. Maybe I just got a thick bottle, mine is without exaggeration like that clear Karo syrup.

Malty is the only thick BWB juice. It has more VG in it, thus all the vapor. Malty Toffee also has more VG but for some reason isn't as thick.

The rest are 70pg/30vg and are thinner and really a good consistency for cartos, carts, and tanks.

None of mine were thick. They were about what I'd expect for a 70/30.

My favorite juices come from Vaporbomb, Madvapes Top Vapor, and High Caliber from litecig, along with a bit of DIY.

No, I'm not trying to quantify anything, I was simply trying to record my opinions as I vaped each juice while writing. I guess I was being a bit overzealous and will keep it simpler in the future. Some factors would likely change due to the variables involved anyway so it probably does little good to try to pinpoint subjective marks that closely.

It's not that any of the juices were bad from a quality standpoint, I think any experienced vaper knows bad juice when they taste it. It's obvious that it's quality juice, the tobacco flavor just isn't to my liking.

BWB is by far my favorite juice vendor, tobacco or otherwise. Granted I've only been vaping for 2 months, but I have around 11 different vendor juices already and roughly 3-5 flavors from each. I've found that as time progresses I love BWB more and more, but wasn't super impressed when I first started. It may be steeping, it may be taste-bud repair, but I've heard from others also that the subtle flavors grow on you.

I appreciate the honest review though. It's hard for me to remain silent however when I've been so thrilled by all 3 of my BWB orders, if not for the sake of others that may dismiss the juice based on your well communicated opinion.

If I could only choose one vendor to vape from forever out of: AVEjuice, Vaperite, Want2Vape, Vapor Station, KBV, Ms. T's, JuicyClear (runner up, but defunct now), Vapables, Rockstar, and FSUSA - it would hands down, no question be BWB.

Taste is a weird thing and definitely subjective, but I highly suggest you come back to the Cherry, Maple, and Applewood in a few weeks or month and see if it's improved for you. :)

If you do ever order again, try Casablanca. It is different than the other BWB tobaccos and good fresh and excellent with more time. If I could only vape one juice, this would be my choice-a smooth tobaccos flavor with cocoa after tones. It leaves a slight tobacco after taste in my mouth that is very satisfying.

I find BWB tobaccos except Casablanca take 3-4 weeks before I like them and over 6 weeks until I love them. At first they have a fuzzy slightly chemical flavor then it fades and the underlying flavors become richer and more complex over time.

Don't give up on them yet. Store them a month a try again especially if you normally like tobacco flavors.

A very well written review. BWB was some of the first juice I bought when I started vaping and to tell the truth I wasn't too impressed with it when I received it. The Cappuchinno flavor was the only one that I really liked, but the tobacco flavors had a very dry, sort of grassy flavor very much as you have described. I put it away with the idea of eventually trading it for something else.

However, after basically forgetting about it for several months I noticed that the Casablanca juice that I had put away had completely changed color, from a pale straw color to deep reddish brown. When I tried it it was a completely different juice, it was complex and rich and it quickly became one of my favorite juices.

I would suggest that you let the juices that you bought steep for a least a couple of weeks, then try it again. If you still don't like it you will find that there are plenty of people that would buy it or trade for it. BWB juice can be frustrating. I have some tobacco juices of theirs that I need to wait at least a month before I can really enjoy it, but at least for me, it will be worth the wait.

Idk what a rubric is so I don't think that's it. Are you asking what kind of voltage? I don't have a multimeter yet, on it's way from China so don't know that either. I use a buzz now, I didn't when I used the BWB.

I don't mix starches and proteins, I only have this problem when I use BWB. I think some of the juice tastes good but my stomach can't handle it, I burp too, it gives me indigestion.

When I received these juices I went to the BWB fanboy/girl thread and asked those who were familiar with this vendor how long I should let them steep before they'd be good. I got answers from several people which gave varying opinions which ranged from vape it when you get it, give it a week, give them a couple of weeks. So I gave them a couple of weeks, actually 2 1/2 weeks.

I have no intentions of getting rid of them yet. I know that freshly mixed juices take some time for the flavors to develop. When I order juice from VaporBomb I know I'll be putting them in my stash for a month before I can use them. With only a couple of exceptions that's how long they take. It varies with the flavor. I've found that true with DIY also. I'll put the BWB juices away for another couple of weeks and try them again which will be a month of steep time. For this review I was going off the advice of those more experienced with this vendor and steeping for the longest time recommended. If they change drastically at the end of that time I'll come back and ammend my review.
