Anyone else decide to just chuck the filler and drip? (I know you're out there!)

I realized that just about any filler I tried with a 510 sucked up a cart of juice, yet only the top half gets used by the atty and I have to top off or drip regularly anyhow. So, I've removed the filler and just drip! Life is so much less frustrating now! LOL :D

I'm really afraid of ruining my atty that way. I don't have any extras yet. I thought I was ordering an extra last week, then my atty apparently "burned up" the day before mine arrived (terrible burned taste no matter what I did). So, my "extra" ended up becoming my primary. Just to be clear, do you drip directly on the atty, then put an empty cart on a vape that way? How many drops? And how many puffs do you get from those drops?

BTW - I directed someone to your "Connoisseur" thread a few minutes ago. There's a thread on the general discussion board titled "enjoying vaping more than analogs" I think, and the OP was mentioning how he/she was truly enjoying vaping as a hobby now, so much more than analogs. Right along the lines of what you were looking for for your article.

I'd been dripping about 2-3 drops on the atty every time I topped off anyhow. No negatives so far - and I've been using the same atty for a few weeks now. I started just dripping yesterday. It actually avoids the bad taste from dry/burnt filler and no more overflows! Yes, I took the filler out and just use it as a mouthpiece now.

Thanks for directing the OP to that thread!

I use the Johnsons Creek dispensers. I have the big one for home and I throw the little one in my purse. I love them. I can drip easily in the car while driving without counting the drops. Just one quick pump. I use 801's and they are perfect.
That sounds pretty cool - I'll have to check that out. I was wondering how I'd handle long drives. Thanks!

Is this what you're describing?
Accessories - The Johnson Creek ePump
Can you elaborate on how it works, please?

Same here. I have to drip as often as I'd top up, so I'm going through more work to use carts. The end result with dripping is less burning, less effort, and no cart modding. I'm guessing it'd be easier to switch flavors too, though I'm not one to switch multiple times in a day. No idea why I didn't do this to begin with.

I guess a possible downside is that you'd run the risk of killing an auto battery. Since I can't stand using them it's not an issue.

I find the same. But I deal.

Actually, once the little one is upstairs in bed I usually start using my Blu with an empty cart and dipping the atty in e-liquid stored in a contact lenses case. Since the Blu has an exposed heating coil in its atty, it's very easy to dip, and it actually gives great taste and vapor when the coil is wet.

I'll chain until I go to bed, but it's easy with the Blu and the small "cup" of e-juice sitting next to me.

(Won't do it if my daughter is awake tho...I take no chances with me forgetting it sitting there and her thinking its juice because it smells good...)

Everytime I try to drip it seems like I get the atty flooded and end up with a mouthfull of juice ... and I am only doing two drops! Methinks I am just doing it wrong ...
Yeah, you have to draw on it carefully without the filler. Maybe try keeping filler in there, but cut it down low enough & push it back, so that it doesn't touch the atty - just acts like a filter to keep the juice out of your mouth?

I rarely use a cart at all anymore , but when i do (did) I never put anything in the filler material.

I drip 2 or 3 drops to center of atty, then tilt the led end of yer e-cig down slightly as you draw vapor into mouth...it does take some practice, but works far far better for me.

I have been considering dripping for awhile now. I do it every now and then, but I am really getting annoyed messing with cart filler now. I have tried several different mods, but nothing seems to work for more than a day or two without me having to constantly adjust whatever filler I am using. Maybe I should just drip from now on.

That is the pump. I can't say how it works with all attys but the 801 or BE112 one pump and you are all set. I don't have to count the drops to keep from flooding the atty. They don't leak either. I took a knife to the inside so the come apart easier for filling.
Do you use it for direct dripping on the atty or for filling carts? I only put 2-3 drops on the atty.

I've converted to dripping most of the time now. I actually find I flood the atty less often by dripping since I know when it's almost dry and I know how much it gets since I'm putting it right there.

I think carts are a bit of an illusion -- they really don't "wick"; but rather, they function more as a plug with a slow leak. They drip more than they wick, but they can also "dump" a disproportionate measure of liquid at times flooding the atty.

I'll probably keep experimenting with fillers just for interest sake and maybe will find something which is as consistently good as dripping. But as it stands, dripping is hard to better.

I'm dripping exclusively now. A drop on each side of the atomizer every 10 puffs or so. I can't get carts to produce like I want them to - without a mouthful of juice. I am a noob though, so that likely has something to do with it too, hehe. My sidesho has kept me off analogs completely since I received it on Friday, and that's saying quite a bit for me. I couldn't be happier.
