Freedom to me is my ability to make my own choices as to what I do, Where I go and how I get there. But freedom is also shouldered with responsibility. I have to make sure that my freedom is not trending on my neighbors freedom. It is sad to read that many vets feel the freedoms they fought for are being lost. I know my freedom was not free. It was bought and paid for with the may lost lifes of our brave military that responded when the call was made to defend our freedoms.
If no one has said THANK YOU today, then let me be the first.

Another photo from a few months ago. My MVP is red, the little thingy on the Kick is blue, and there is white around the windows.

The Maraxus, the batteries, and the Kick are from Cactus!

Our gift shop is in the building in the background. It's a huge barn like structure that use to be a factory where they canned clams and lobsters early in the century. It is built on pilings made of rocks stacked up and is over the ocean.

No time to dig through the cupboard this morning, off to work so.... This is what I was vaping last night. My paps mod with an omega. Yummy custard juice. It's golden. Like the fireworks. Oh good grief, what a stretch. Happy 4th of July! It's upside down too. I didn't orientate the ipad the correct way again. ;)

So much history in this image. So much struggle to keep us a free nation. I keep thinking about all the freedoms we have lost but also William Bennett, Education Secy under Reagan. He had a test he called the gates test.

If you open a nation's borders, which directions do people flow? Are a nation's gates, walls and fences keeping people out or in?

Makes me think that we are still so much better than so many other places as far as freedom and quality of life. I know that I am still proud to be an American and also fortunate to have been born an American

I have always loved this print. It is one I own and is framed and on the wall in the loft. Along with my favorite John Wayne print.

It always conjures thoughts about what his prayer might have been and makes me think about the man himself. He was from a known VA family but wasn't the one to inherit, so not totally upper class, yet he brought himself up to a higher station. He worked hard at being politically correct for that time and then turned his back on a lot of it to become a rebel and a traitor for a time, such contrast. If you really look at the battles... Washington won maybe only one or two yet portrayed himself as a winner at all times.

Then I think of the Constitution and just what it took for that to become a reality. What if we had lost the war? What if WW II had gone differently? or we hadn't joined until it was too late? There have been so many times that our nation could have collapsed and fallen by the wayside, yet we are still here and have freedoms that many others wish for.

I don't have cool vape gear so just posting this instead and hope that is alright.

The other person that amazes me was LaFayette. Not even from America or England, yet came here on his own dime and fought for our freedoms beside Washington and was imprisoned when he tried to get the same for France.

Tick... *hugs* and just stop it! If nothing else, positive attitude... can work wonders

Freedom means access. We have access to clean water and medical care. We have access to so many ways to increase our knowledge. I have a sweet friend who has to be on oxygen all the time, and a lot of the time she has to use a wheelchair, who just so happens to love to travel. She even went to school online to become a travel agent and started her own business. She has taught me not to take my freedom of access (and so many other things) for granted.

Freedom means different things to different people at different times. The freedom your pastor speaks of is not the freedom the Libertarians speak of, is not the freedom William Wallice screamed at the end of the film, and is not the freedom that Janice Joplin sang about. They could all get in one hell of a brawl if they had to come to a consensus on a party platform that didn't just consist of platitudes.
Freedom to me is about having the choice to do as I please. Some of the things I do are dangerous, stupid, or/and offensive to others leading to some of those things being illegal with much negative propaganda, and sometimes limited reliable information. This means if I am to stay free I have to be careful, I have to research, and I have to have good judgement on who to trust and when because when and if I mess up, it'll all be my fault, but the consequences would affect more people than myself, some of whom I love and want to protect. Things get complicated.
However, Vaping does seem to be much less harmful than smoking, and sure smells hell of a lot better and my family is quite happy that I made the switch. This choice is not complicated.
