You are right Mommay the kick will not fit in this mod, it does use the 14500 battery, very similar in size to a AA battery same height as a 18500 battery just skinnier so its potential for bad things happening is very reduced.

Another protection option available for normal sized Mech mods is a battery fuse. about $2.50 to $3 bucks they don't control volts or wattage like a kick module but they do limit battery current to a max of 7 amps (so @ 3.7 to 4.2v = 26 to 29 watts max) they are a thin wafer like a dime or nickle and fit on top of the battery between it and the mod head they are about 1/4" in height.

I have found that many people are not aware of them.
I use one in an Sentinal M16 mech mod when testing DIY juices.

How do you do that? And how do you know build around the wattage with no kick?

Are you asking how to build to a certain wattage? Ohms law. If you know what wattage you want and what the volts of your batt is, you can build a coil of the correct ohms to get the wattage.

Or, to make it easier: Watts - volts - amps - ohms conversion calculator

I wish I had remembered to order a fuse for when I want to use an 18650 battery in my Maraxus. I knew about them, but I didn't even think about it. I guess I will just have to place another order soon!

I can't wait until the PO gets the mail sorted, this will be some of my most exciting vape mail ever!!!

ever since i got into mech mods it's almost all i use now, although i still use my evic, vamo and cool fire 2 and love them i just really like using mechanicals.
so i guess i'm saying i like the prize being giving away and would consider purchasing it on the website
keep on vaping on

I'm glad to know that, I'm getting my first mech mod today! I am also new to rebuilding, and after getting the Nimbus and KFL + I will never go back to buying prebuilt again. I'm not going to sub ohm, and will probably not use mechs without a kick or fuse, though.

That makes sense. But how do you know when the battery is getting to low? I know I can check the volts on my vamo but with mechs you cant just push a button and find the volts

Nope you'll need a multi meter for that. Another good prize, I'm sure someone mentioned that somewhere here. I'm an electrical tech by trade so I've got a few lying around. Thinking about designing my own portable though. Having to hold the atty while checking resistance is a PIA.

You're quality of vape goes down.. You loose flavor, th, and cloud. So you kinda get the 'feel' for when it need a recharge/batt change..

I could not agree more....I still ask questions here and always get the answer I need...Even though I am not a newbie my questions may sound like it and nobody puts me down for asking....
