I use the sweet strawberry and it does need to steep. Now that I started adding creams and vanillas it has "popped" and is so much better.

I tried one when I first got my diy stuff. It was strawberries n cream. Tasted horrible till it sat for a few day but even then it wasn't what I expected from strawberry flavor. Oh well, back to the lab it goes.

I find on alot of my little creations, i have to let it sit for about 3 to 7 days before i get what I was hoping for or close.
On single flavors you know that day it seems like, but if I try one and it does not taste good, I let it sit for a week and try again.
Still not very good at it, DIYing but like everything else, there is a learning curve involved...

Steeping in general will allow the most volatile compounds, flavors and aromas dissipate. If the off flavors are the most volatile, steeping will help, if the flavors you really want in the mix is the most volatile, steeping will ruin a good fresh mix.

DIY is a lot like cooking, some stews and chillies are best the next day, and a good prime rib needs to be fresh cooked.

Oh no! the Emech got dropped!! sorry to hear that K

Yeah, my husband knocked it off the desk while the USB was plugged in. I think the plug probably hit the chair just right on the way down, and snapped it inside the E-Mech. :( It landed on carpet, and didn't hurt anything else. The Lemo is still intact, and the E-Mech works perfectly except for the USB plugin outlet, so that's a relief.

I'm really glad the E-Mech uses 18650 batteries rather than having a proprietory one inside, because I can still just swap batteries as needed. If it didn't have swappable batteries, I wouldn't be able to charge it.

I don't think it's my day. No paycheck today, and with a bunch of snow tonight and tomorrow, plus another storm on Monday, that means we won't be able to get to the bank and PO until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I wish that there was a law saying you had to be paid on a certain day no matter what. Technically, Thursday is considered to be payday, because the work week starts on Friday and ends on Thursday for him, but about 50% of the time it doesn't get here until Monday, and when there is a three day weekend, it doesn't come until Tuesday.

The accountant is so stupid she doesn't even know how to do direct deposits.

Oh well, enough complaining from me, this is supposed to be a happy thread! On a happier note, we got rain instead of snow during the day. It's just changing over now! :)

Kath...son says taking the back off is straight forward... 6 screws and all are visible on the back. He says it depends on where it broke. So I would say to open it up and take a look. If you can't figure it out, post pics and will have him see if he spots anything.

PB...yeah, strawberry has been a bit problematic for me too. I go very very light on it in the shake when I do it. Can't remember if it is strawberry sweet or strawberry ripe that I like... will probably need the steep time. Give it a few weeks before throwing in the towel, you can try it every few though

Thanks Joan, I'll check it out when hubby gets in a better mood. He's too bummed about the paycheck right now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the solder though. That frequently seems like a weak spot, and he has the tiny soldering iron. :)

I'm sort of liking the LA strawberry I got at JoAnn's Fabrics, but so far I've only used it in one recipe, and I haven't got any other strawberries, so I don't know how it compares. It does have food coloring, but any time I see concentrated water soluable flavorings in a store, I pick them up!

Sounds like you might be able to take the battery out with some very fine point tweezers plug the broken part of the USB charger out. Worse case as you said, you can swap out the batteries.

That payday stuff sucks.

Stay warm and dry this weekend.

Thanks Racegun. :)

The part of the USB cable didn't come off inside the plug, when I picked it up, it was crooked, and the USB connection in the mod was what was crooked. The cord itself is fine, and still works on other devices. It's the connection in the mod that's broken. That's what makes me think it broke the soldering inside.

1/30 #1..I was reading about making shampoo and the lady said store bought shampoo has pg in it and that it is not good for you..confusing..should I stick with vg..why does pg make some people sick?

I wouldn't think pg could be that bad for people,it is used as a carrier for some medicines, such as albuterol, not sure if i spelled that right haha, but anyway,it's the medicine people use in those nebulizers for asthma, they are essentially vaping it.

Kath... that is probably the case but if you need guidance, just let me know.

Becky... shampoo is easy. PG is a humectant of sorts but is also has antibacterial properties. VG is a humectant also. I am not sure there is anything out there that someone doesn't see as harmful. I remember when they said peanut butter causes cancer. It is the parabens that I worry about in beauty products but they are there as a germicidal and I will use it at times. If something that will be on the skin for awhile, I stay away but if in something that will be rinsed off rather quickly, then I ignore it.

Alright, new question: How do drip tips affect the vaping experience? I always see reviewers with fancy drip tips on their tanks and drippers--and they always make a point of removing the original drip tip and saying you can use your favorite drip tip--but other than the material feel on you lips (or against your teeth) and the look of the tip with your device and topper, do they make a difference? Shape, etc.? I usually just stick with the tip that comes with the topper...

Yes some will make a difference in the vape quality.I have some that have a smaller hole in them which will make the draw a bit tighter,i also have a few wide bore tips that give a wide open draw,i even have one that is sort of flat, like the tips on black and mild cigars.I have noticed though, that wide bore tips dont change the draw much unless they are paired with an attie that can pull alot of air though,if you put a wide bore tip on a pro tank,it's not really going to make it feel like an rda,but put that wide bore on a good rda and whoa haha.

Yes, but aside from the bore. Slow mentioned a preference for glass over metal or plastic. Any reason? And what about shape? Some are vase-like, some are simple shafts, etc. I understand the flat tip ones for comfort and similarity to existing tobacco products....

I guess what I'm driving at is, if one were to plan on blowing $20+ (or even $10+) on a fancy drip tip, how would you base your decision other than looks? And why spend that much other than you feel like spending the money and want to make your vape more unique?
