Everyone is paranoid about inhaling & exhaling anything. Seems funny that they will let you smoke {OTHER STUFF}, but not a e-cig. Just askk them "Show ME Your Science".
They believe that e-cigs are just like analogs & we know that is wrong. If the Science thing doesn't work ask them "Why does my doctor recommend them to me to quit smoking".

The proposed ordinance in Los Angeles, which is sponsored by ANTZ and would falsely define e-cigs as "electronic smoking devices", would also ban the use of e-cigs that vaporize ....

In fact, that should help our efforts to defeat the bill, as CA NORML opposes e-cig bans that also ban ... vaping.

Regardless, LA vapers and vendors need to quickly mobilize to oppose and defeat this measure.

Well... no update call.
However, this is the update regarding the proposed ordinance:
City (full) council is expected to vote the revised proposal into ordinance at council's meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4th, starting at 10:00 AM.
During the February 24th committee meeting a revision was introduced and the city attorney was asked to amend the proposal. The revised draft now include the following exceptions: use of "electronic smoking devices" will be allowed at B&M vapor stores/lounges and at theatrical production sites (if the use of the "electronic smoking device" is an integral part of the story in the production).
The B&M "vendors" were mostly concerned about the above-mentioned... That goes to prove that most are after the quick buck.

Bill makes a good point, but let's not forget that NORML and dozens other associations (and coalitions) supporting that industry are well organized and managed to overturn bans and ordinances via lawsuits, etc.

It's official:
LOS ANGELES E-CIGARETTE BAN EFFECTIVE DATE IS APRIL 19, 2014.
Ordinance Number 182927

http://clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2013/13-1204-s1_ord_182927.pdf

Los Angeles City Mayor's approval: http://clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2013/13-1204-s1_misc_03-07-2014.pdf

A minimum of 56,683 signatures will be necessary in order to overturn the ordinance via referendum.
I sent the Poloso letter book, right after posting here. The mayor obviously was more impressed with the ANTZ wining & dining.
Time to start another petition.
I read, just yesterday, the most thorough letter ever, by a guy named Ryan. If we could use his format for the petitions, we'd at least get the truth out to petioners who browse the petition areas. The officials don't seem to read anything, but the people do.

Unfortunately, the petition to overturn ordinance has to be a physical one. Signatures must be gathered within city limits and from registered voters.
