Caller ID is E-CIGARETTE

For about a months I get two phone calls a day at approximately the same time: 10:30pm and 11:20 pm with caller ID showing E-CIGARETTE. We just ignored them mostly but recently I learned from Internet that it's not me only having these calls. The pattern is the same: they never leave a message, they never answer if you take the call. Luckily if you call them back you get answering machine with the option "Unsubscribe" (regardless I never subscribed) and they promise to unsubscribe in 7 to 10 business days. I did this only today and let's see how this will work.

I started to think who could need such a weird "promotional campaign" calling people at 11:20pm and saying nothing. The only reasonable explanation of such a campaign I've found is that somebody wants to create a negative feelings in the society regarding e-cigarettes. Either you a smoker or non-smoker after several such calls your first reaction on the word "e-cigarette" would be "Ah, those crazy guys who awake me every night!" I don't like conspiracy theories but I really don't see another explanation. Do you?

Ive never had letters come up on caller ID unless the name and number was programed in to my phone.

I have letters in caller ID mostly and just a number rarely. Maybe it's because this is Vonage IP-phone. But if most phones don't show letters this ruins my "conspiracy theory".

Thanks for the link. Following it I've found a lot of complaints but nobody knows the company. Interestingly nobody mentions E-CIGARETTE so my "conspiracy theory" doesn't work, forget it.
