Can a Protank be shorted/ruined?

Sounds like the coil assembly is not getting screwed down all the way so it can make contact with the battery pin, cross threading can cause this as well as an obrtuction.


I agree - seems to be lack of contact to power - or a bad new coil - it happens - rare but has happened to me.

It isn't getting a good connection somewhere .Do you have access to any type of multimeter/ohmmeter ? I believe you can find the problem that way .Just a thought , have you cleaned the threads where the coil screws in and where base screw onto the battery ? it doesn't take much of a obstruction to stop low voltage from making contact .
