Can a Protank be shorted/ruined?

I use four Protanks in rotation. About a week ago, one of them just died on me. Tried new coils, cleaning, etc. It simply won't fire at all. Can a tank just go bad like that or am I missing something? (Sorry, I tried searching this site and the web, but didn't see anything that relates to my problem.)

Sounds like the coil assembly is not getting screwed down all the way so it can make contact with the battery pin, cross threading can cause this as well as an obrtuction.

I agree - seems to be lack of contact to power - or a bad new coil - it happens - rare but has happened to me.

What battery type are you using and do you have another to try it on ? If you have a ohm meter you can check for ground issues if center pin isn't the issue .

I have two Vamos and it won't work on either one. I replaced the coil with a couple of other ones that fire fine in other tanks. The threading seems good, too.

It isn't getting a good connection somewhere .Do you have access to any type of multimeter/ohmmeter ? I believe you can find the problem that way .Just a thought , have you cleaned the threads where the coil screws in and where base screw onto the battery ? it doesn't take much of a obstruction to stop low voltage from making contact .

I do have a meter that somebody gave me a while back, but I'm not smart enough to know how to use it. I will, however, try to clean those threads. Thanks.
