Sorry to burst your bubble but such batteries don't exist. If that (3000mAh and 40A) is written on the wrap then it's a lie. What brand are those? We should try and see if they were tested and what their true rating is, what you think they are is likely massively overstated.

Back to your question, yes you can charge from that adapter. The question is if you want to, USB charging should be a last resort and not the default. If you usually charge your batteries in a dedicated charger and only sometimes need to top them off in the car it should be fine.
In addition, I personally would minimize the time I have to trust a smok battery charging circuit, especially while driving.

Your usb plug produces 1 amp at 5 volts, not any different than many wall warts that could be used. So yes it can be done.

An external battery charger would be better and maybe even safer than sitting next to your mod while charging in the confined spaces of your car. t can be done, I've done it in a pinch a couple times but would not make a habit of it.

Good catch on the battery specs.

AWT rewrap batteries and write fantasy numbers on the wrap. They may also change the battery inside without notice. Do not buy rewrapped batteries! Here's a list of good choices (in your case the "regulated" table)
Mooch's Recommended Batteries | E-Cigarette Forum
and only buy from a vendor you can trust (so no ebay or amazon please).

As per Mooch's blog they already changed the wrapped battery at least one time, who knows what's inside now.
This may be directly related to your charging problem. Dreadful batteries go low quickly and you need to recharge them often. If you had good brand batteries that could already result in much longer vaping time and less need to charge a SMOK mod in your car at 100mph on thin ice...

What power are you vaping at?

I don't want to rock the boat here but I think I have a solution. Might sound be a bit extremist but hear me out.

You can charge batteries at home and just carry an extra set with you. A pair of 18650s is about the same size as a costco tictac case.

Much safer, especially since the temp in a car is usually either very cold or very hot. And it will also force you to buy a second set of batteries, of which hopefully you will pick a good pair.

soo I bought a new set of batteries the sony ones looked pretty good on the chart , vaping usually around 50-65 watts at most. Soo if i ever needed to charge the batteries in my car should i do them while they are in the mod or stick em in my effest external charger and hook it up in the power port ?

Better option would be to carry a spare set of charged batteries in a plastic battery case, per @dom qp's suggestion. This is what nearly all experienced vapers do.

Back to your question, tho. It's almost always preferred to charge in an external charger than use the internal charger in the mod, especially since you're using a SMOK mod, which don't have the best reputation for charging batteries internally in the mod, which @untar was hinting at above in his first post.

If you never go over 85W you can go for high capacity batteries with 15A CDR (Sony VTC6 or Samsung 30Q), they'll last you a while longer (that's for a dual battery configuration in any mod).
Good point! :thumb:

Using two 15A batteries allows wattages up to 90 watts. (45W x 2 = 90W) You can take advantage of the extra mah (3000mAh) for longer run time.

WATTAGE PER SINGLE BATTERY on REGULATED MOD:
(Total wattage doubles using 2 batteries; Triples using 3 batteries.)

Agree with @untar in that in an emergency, USB charging could be utilized. However, one should not leave the device unattended and should constantly monitor. If the device gets hot – stop charging immediately! I’d recommend testing your charger for a good 20 to 30 min while stationary in a parking lot or driveway prior to driving while charging. This does not guarantee you will not experience an issue while driving, but if the device gets hot during the test you can forgo charging all together thus avoiding any potential issues.

Also - can’t say this function is with all Smok devices, but do know the Alien implements Float Charging once the cells reach their 4.2 volts (Smok is also not the only company to implement Float charging). In the most simplest terms, Float Charging continuously applies a voltage in order to maintain the batteries maximum capacity. Over charging could become an issue which stresses the importance of keeping an eye on your device while it is charging. Your device should indicate when the cells have reached 4.2v each or have become fully charged. Once fully charged, it is stressed that you unplug from the charger to prevent any issues.
