Can I renew my sub w/o using paypal?

I was happy to donate to this forum last year. I recently received an email reminding me that a year has passed and I went to renew. But I can't find a way to simply pay with a CC without going through paypal. I don't have and don't want a paypal account.

Am I missing something? Any way to renew without going through paypal?

Currently PayPal is the only way to subscribe to ECF. WE used to have MoneyBookers but can no longer use them, other options are being investigated but at this time PayPal is all we have available.

The biggest issue is since the ECF staff is spread out over time zones we need a payment method that integrates with the forum and handles subscriptions automatically with minimal human interaction. Yes there could be manual solutions available, but in order to keep things running smoothly -- the solutions need to be mostly automated and compatible with the forum software so that folks get processed as quickly as possible.

We probably will not be able to accept credit cards directly because it just isn't cost effective for us to set up a cart and merchant account / credit card gateway.

I agree...popmoney would be a good way to go especially since j0ker is recommending them but I don't know if they do auto payments. That's something that would have to be looked into.

I believe you can use a credit card through paypal without having an account

go to paypal, hover over "buy" at the top of the page, then click on "make a payment" I think that is how you do it and I assume that would work for ecf too (?)

Thanks so much for the suggestion, but when I try to renew I'm taken to a page that explicitly states I need to either already have, or need to to create, a paypal subscription to continue. No other options.

well that's a drag. it worked for me, but that was sometime back. sorry! I have a pp acct now, but didn't then

I believe since the subscription is auto pay, you will have to have an account. I could be wrong though.

I don't think I'm on autopay. When I first joined it was through Moneybookers.
