So im using a dripper its turbo v1 .. and the country im at right now doesnt sell cotton that you can use in vaping. I had to wait for my friend who went back for vacation in our country to get me some. And right now im running low on cotton (im using japanese btw). I just want to know if i can use the wick i have right now because i want to clean my coils and i had to remove the wick right. Can someone tell me is it possible and how ? Thanks

Times can be difficult for everyone from time to time. I would recommend not reusing a wick. I recommend completely cleaning your tank/rda, and wiping off the device you have, every week or two. You do not have to dry everything out, just blow it out and reassemble with everything fresh and clean.

Whats your reasoning. I see no reason not to if you don't have any other options. However, you can use unbleached organic cotton. Should be able to get it at any beauty supply store, or most likely a pharmacy.

#1- you can use cotton balls. there's no reason why you shouldn't. it's perfectly fine imho. I use them in every single build and I haven't mutated 3 legs yet.

#2- yes you can re-use your wick, although it may-be a pain to reuse one. If the portion of your wick that was under your coil is blackened, you may want to use a different portion. if you are using the same e-liquid but different coil, just pull the cotton through until you are well past the black area. That black area is not going to wick as well as fresh, unburned cotton, so try to use the end that has no burned-spot for the main wick and the end with the blackened area as the wick you push under your coil or off to the side. (If you know what I mean?) but yes, you can reuse. in-fact, i have pulled my wicks to a new spot in the cotton before dry-burning, to increase the amount of time between dry-burns, with good results. Just always keep in mind that the end with that blackened area is going to wick less efficiently than new cotton. & if you have Q-tips/Swabs or Cotton-balls, you'll have no issues using these. You can also use natural, undyed, unbleached cotton yarn. I use peaches N cream, from walmart.

So before i found this circular pads use for facial cleansing and i didn't buy because i'm not sure if it's safe and that's the only product that i found here that is 100% cotton and unbleached well at least that's what it says in its bag. Can i use that ? or can i boil it just to be safe ?

Some vapers do use bleached cotton. It's really up to you & what you feel safest using... I've used cotton-balls for many many years now with no issues. If you find a product that does say unbleached+organc-cotton, then all the better, as that cotton product is unbleached & organically grown. The truth is, any cotton plant that becomes a white poofy cotton-ball, is boiled at high-temps prior to becoming that bleached white cotton-ball. so i really have no issue using cotton balls. (tho, u can get natural/organic cotton-balls from most drug-stores, like CVS and Walgreens)

As-long as those facial pads have no chemicals for cleaning the face, those would be perfect, assuming they will break-apart long enough to fashion a wick from them. You can also use cotton yarn, as I've said above. (Peaches N Cream cotton yarn from Walmart is unbleached+organic) there are really plenty of cotton products that you could technically use for wicking safely. Cotton Q-tips, cotton pads, cotton gauze. Anything that does-not have chemical within it or sprayed upon it. MOST bleached white cotton is going to be sterile, just because they do boil the cotton to manufacture these products, and the fact that cotton is used in the beauty/healthcare industries, which demand a clean/sterile product.

i mean, i can't guarantee anything but what I am trying to say to you, is that ME personally? I both use & approve-of the use of bleached cotton, and organic unbleached/uncolored cotton. you can most-likely find a big bag of medical supply cotton online that would probably be guaranteed sterile. some people use synthetic cotton, known-as rayon, i believe. it's a fantastic wicking material. (in-fact, rayon beats-out organic cotton and competes neck-in-neck with japanese cotton, in wicking ability)

so, i mean, you can use anything you feel comfortable using, my brother.

Wow. Thanks you so much. I have been vaping for a month now and this forum helps me a lot. Thanks

I clean every time after I use the bathroom too. I don't plan on getting sick from vaping.

Do you reuse your eating utensils for weeks on end, and not wash them with soap even though you've ONLY placed them in your mouth time and again? Vaping is the same.

I'm sure the cotton is OK to use right out of the bag. Bleaching just makes the cotton white.

Yes, you can reuse a wick if you can clean it. Rayon is better for this purpose than cotton, but it can be done. As has been said, though, there's no real reason to do so. Wick can be made out of many things. Drugstore cotton balls work just fine, or rolled cotton pads. You could roll up a tube of un-dyed cotton broadcloth. Or use a sliver of bamboo. Or any number of other things. People love the unbleached organic cotton-- some people, I'm a rayon man myself-- but consider: how harmful would the temporary use of regular old cheap cotton balls be, compared to smoking?
