a website selling low resistance atomizers for joye 510 recommends NOT to use a standard battery. Is this good information? im looking into getting some low resistance attys for more vapor and throat hit but i dont want to damage my batteries or have to buy new ones. can anyone validate this information? thanks.

Yes it is good information. A standard battery really isn't even strong enough for a standard atomizer, but they limp on by. Using a LR atty on a standard battery will result in decreased battery life, probably severely decreased battery life. It is for this reason they are only recommended to be used on a bigger battery such as a mod or an ego.

I've read people doing it but I would HIGHLY recommend against it. The draw a standard atty has on a 510 is hard enough on it. If you want to try a LR then get a 510 Pass Through, Ego, Riva or Hello Battery with it and you'll be good to go. You'll find any of those better options than the standard battery in every way except for size if that matters to you.

All the above is true....BUT..my wife and I came to a crossroad..vapin wasnt doin it. We were close to givin up. Broke...well almost and heard all the good higher voltages were doin. Didnt want to spend money and be disappointed. So to test the waters we both got an LR 510 for our reg. 510 batts. Worked just fine for two months or so and we found it saved us from the death stix. And proved it was worth the money to invest in vaping...Just my 2....

Hi Captain, I had the same question myself. I have a Riva and had been using LR attys when I first heard about the incompatibility issue. I chose to be safe rather than sorry and switched back to the regular attys. If you are wanting a stronger vape with your 510, I would suggest getting a pass-through. The above poster who said that the LR was okay for the eGo is wrong. The eGo/Riva is simply a 510 or 901 with a longer battery life. The pass-through will give you a 5v hit, this was what got me through my first couple of months when my cravings were the strongest. Good Luck

what kind of mod would i need to use a lr atty? just made a nicostick with a 3.7v trustfire. would a lr atty damage this battery?

The lr attys are ok on true 3.7v mods. Anything less draws too much and will reduce the battery life and in the instance of the eGo / Riva, could kill the mosfet switch which is not rated for that high a power drain.
With that said, I still enjoy using an lr on my eGo's knowing full well each puff could kill it.

I have too, but in all honesty didn't really think it was that much of a difference.

... of course, I can't tell the difference between VHS and DVD movies either -- maybe I'm just not very observant.
