In the machine shop we used a pad and wheels something like a Scotch Bright pad but finer. BUT, we did it while spinning it on a lathe too. They make them for hi-speed flex-shaft tools or Dremel..looking for that now. I dont think a drill would be fast enough though. Your not talking about a chrome like finish are you?

Get a shiny finish on my GGTS. Is there a "wheel" I can buy for my drill to take it form the standard finish to the shiny?

Any links would be appreciated...............
A buffing wheel with jewelers rouge should bring that out nicely. Depending on how deep that logo is "laser" etched you might loose that if your are not careful. But using a dremel if you are handy with it, you can phase the shine towards the logo, if you know what I mean.

Is yours one of the original ones with lines?
If it is then I fear that you would buff the logo out entirely if you remove the lines altogether.
Have you tried Cape Cod cloths for a shinier finish before taking a more drastic "cutting-type" route?

Elendil, if your number is more than 160 then its shiny to mirror already but maybe its dirty. But if it has a number below then you have to go to a store to shine it. You will lose the logo of course.
You cant do it alone because you have to know how to do it. You will lose the rounded shape for sure. You will shine it more from one side and when light goes on the GG it will look like squared. I recomend to go to a store. I think that with 15 euros your job will be done:)

Alternatively, Elendil, you could try putting a call out for someone who might like to swap - there is highly likely to be someone out there who would send you their shiny one in exchange for your original finish. I had a PM just yesterday asking if they were going to be produced in the original finish again - so I know there are people out there who might possibly consider a swap with you.

With this new finish does the GGTS stay shiny or do you still have to clean it. And when you do clean it does it take the shinynessness away? Just curious

My new GGS was shiny when I bought it a few weeks ago, I have only wiped it every day for a few minutes with a soft cloth and it is still shiny. My TS 335 is also still shiny like a mirror ;-)
