I ordered some 100 mg 25/75 pg/vg e-liquid and when it got here the bottle was a little wet. I noticed the cap was not on all too well, it doesn't look like too much leaked out, but I'm wondering if it was a little exposed and went through some harsh conditions like being too hot if the liquid might have gone bad. This is my first time ordering nicotine for DIY and it smells pretty bad. Is it supposed to be odorless? Thanks.

I should have mentioned I noticed the seal was stuck to the cap of the bottle when I opened it. It smells really bad, I can describe it when I get home. I added some to a vanilla liquid to bump it from 24mg to 36 and the taste was there of the nicotine. I am curious if VG could have an odor. I will be getting in contact with the vendor.

Edit: I don't know what really to compare it to. To me it smells like battery acid or something, and it's a really strong smell. Will post back when I hear back from the vendor.

Here & There
Various nicotine solutions have slight to moderate smell to them---that is very subjective it can also be from clear to light yellow in color. 100 mg is potent stuff be careful and yes that tends to have more of an odor than lets say buying 18 mg nic solution. Either way it should not be opened, unsealed or spilled---hopefully the vendor will make it right.

Good thread about various nic solutions and opinions on them taste wise here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/298547-nicotine-comparisons.html

I'm not sure if I should list the vendor, but I'm not very happy with the service I got. The guy just told me that the seal probably came off due to heat during transit, and he would replace an amount that had spilled out. I didn't notice a lot had spilled, but the seal coming off had me worried, and he makes it sound like it's nothing to worry about.

I did come across this thread that deals with what I'm going through. It may be a problem that you only have with vg. Good/bad unflavoured nicotine liquid smell?

If the vender will not replace the leaking bottle I would find another vender. Nicotine is a toxic substance and if the postal authorities got wind of this all hell would break loose. This is the type of vender that would cause all sorts of shipping regulations to be imposed or make it illegal to ship at all. This is not good.

I know ppaces make you accept their terms to protect them from you accidentally getting toxic nicotine on your skin but I would think that if their container failed they should make it right or they could face liability from incorrect shipping?

sent from my phone via tapatalk 2 because I can't stop reading and posting on ECF

Not to mention what this seller is doing to the reseller industry. If I was that vender not only would I want to make good on this mishap but I would want to revisit my packaging and shipping practices. Irresponsible sellers can ruin the whole industry by causing legislation to be enacted preventing sellers from selling or shipping these items. Big tobacco is on the lookout for just this type of seller to make an example out of to further there cause of monopolizing the world with there cigarette products

It came from MyFreedomSmokes.

I've orderd nic from myfreedom and never had a problem like that. I would call them back and ask for the manager. There usually very good.
Who ever you talked to may not be concerned but I'm sure management will be.

This is from Chad Turbeville:

The unflavored nic juice does have an odor so that is normal. The seal probably came off due to the heat during transit so if some leaked let me know and we can replace a certain amount of credit your account for the amount that leaked out.

There is a number so I will try calling it later. The smell is really strong like battery acid or something moldy.

I called MFS and talked with someone and they were very helpful. They said they could replace the bottle or give me store credit and I opted for store credit so I could get PG which I was reading in the thread I linked earlier on that people had less problems with it going bad. Again they didn't sound too worried about the seal coming off they said it was just the heat during transit and I mentioned to them that it could be bad if the wrong people found out. Especially with the FDA rulings approaching, we don't need something like this to come out for them to decide to ban online sales of nicotine altogether. They also told me that the nicotine would have a bitter smell but like I told them when I added 1ml of the unflavored nicotine to a 10ml flavored bottle I had purchased before, it made all of the juice unvapeable and taste moldy or very strongly of the odor of a nicotine patch.
