Can somebody recommend a compact tank system for a relatively new vaper?

Hello all.. I started with V2 pre-filled with their batteries, then moved to blank cartos, then to clearomizers with the V2 batteries. I've found myself frustrated first with burning out cartomizers... Then with dealing with constantly cleaning clearomizers as soon as they start to taste burnt. I get the impression that lots of vapers eventually move to tanks and are happiest with those. Can somebody recommend a basic tank system (regardless of whether or not I'll have to retire my V2 batteries) that "just works" consistently?

An important thing for me is that it's *relatively* compact. It wouldn't need to be as small as a regular ecig, obviously, but I like being able to hold it between my teeth when I need to. Basically just something I'll be able to keep in my pocket without looking *too* silly. I'm not ready to get into those really big mods.

Basically, I'd just like a system that's at least a little bit compact, that I can just fill and forget about for a while, without worrying about burning anything, wicking properly, or leaking or anything like that.

**This post isn't intended to sound impatient. I know that it's a long process of figuring out what works for everybody individually. Thanks in advance, folks!

There are some great buys at Fasttech. Just look under toys and hobbies. I personally have been using the eVODs and have really enjoyed them. Easy to use, fill and vapes great. I've only tried a few so far but the eVODs are pretty popular and everyone seems to like them. Welcome to the forum. Lots of great information. For me it has almost turned into an obsession. Most people will say smoking was an addiction, but vaping is a hobby. I didn't understand that at first but I do now.

A very good combination that I enjoy everyday, with great flexibility is the evod, as Rat2Chat2 mentioned, on top of the Innokin iTaste 3.0. Not only does this combination look great, it's on a very small form factor, yet you have the features of a full-sized mod. The iTaste is smaller then my twists/spinners, but includes an LED, Ohms/resistance meter, +/- buttons to adjust power/voltage, both variable voltage and variable wattage/power, and a puff counter. The evod, with replaceable heads is very compact and delivers a very nice vape. It's a bottom coil device, so very few wicking problems, and very inexpensive head/coils. My :2c:.

There's no juice delivery device that "just works consistantly". They all have there pro's and con's. I will say though, once you overcome your "size issue", you'll find more options available to you. There just are not many options to choose from in the smaller format batteries.

The Nano clearomizer is the same size/shape of a cartomizer, but works like a clearomizer. Holds 1 ml. Like any clearomizer, they can be inconsistant. You can find these in a 510 thread (AltSmoke) or 808 thread (Smokeless Image). In the regular size clearomizer category, I've had better results with the bottom-coiled clearos than the top ones.

The most consistant delivery device, and the one that provides the best flavor for ME has been cartotanks. But they would be larger than what you are interested in as they would look rather ridiculous on a cigalike battery.

I am brand new to vaping but I can recommend the mini vivi nova tank. It is a top coil tank so the vape is warm (sorta like a real cig), the draw is nice and it holds 2ml of juice. I have not experienced any leaks, or dry hits so far. Most people will recommend to tip the tank every so often to make sure it wicks properly but that's about it. I am very satisfied with it. Good luck!

Oh! One more thing: you can buy pre-made attomizer head replacements (cheap) and the tank comes completely apart for easy cleaning.

An EVOD with an ego-twist type battery will be relatively compact and perform well. The replacement heads are cheap (less than $10 USD for a 5 pack), and if you take a look on YouTube at some of the videos people have made, are surprisingly easy to rebuild yourself for just a few cents. As hvac999 mentioned above ^^, you can use those replacement heads in the Protank too if you decide to go a little larger.

I don't think you would be able to hold it in your mouth like you mentioned, but this setup would not be too large. You are going to have a hard time finding anything significantly better than what you already have for hands-free use, unfortunately.

For something small I will agree with a few of the other posters here and say the evod is a great way to go. Stock they are pretty decent but if you take the time to learn how to rebuild the wick and coils yourself they can provide an outstanding vape. I still use an ego with an evod when I am at work because they are cheap and if I lose or break one it's no big deal.

Hi thomas.egnoto, and welcome to the forum. I started out with V2 also, and still use them when I'm out and about. V2's clearos aren't quite up to snuff yet; if you want to stay with your V2 batteries (at least some of the time), I'd recommend the Kanger e-smart clearos (e-Smart clearomizers - package of 5). The tips screw in, unlike the V2's, so they're "teeth friendly," but they are not very pocket friendly. You might want to look into the eRoll (aka emini); there's a sub-forum here about them.

If you want to move up in size, consider an eGo battery, which is 510 threaded. Lots and lots of tanks, clearos, and carto-tanks to choose from with 510 threading! I personally love the Kanger ProTank, which is pyrex glass (so you don't need to be concerned when using "tank eating" juices) and has replaceable atomizer heads, so you're only replacing the head and not having to buy a whole new tank. Kanger is coming out shortly with a mini Protank, too, which looks to be the same diameter as the eGo batteries. Not sure if this would be pocket friendly, though.

Hope this helps!

Today is your lucky day. The Kanger Mini Protank just came out.

Hot dang! Have you ever ordered direct from sz-kanger? Viper Vape is taking pre-orders for release 7/15 ($13.99), but I've never ordered from them and don't know them, so I'm reluctant... Really REALLY want a mini pro!

I don't recommend cigarette-style ecigs. They aren't fill and forget. They need a lot of attention compared to something with a bigger battery. You can get the tankomizers or whatever, but I'd prefer something like a TW mini RCS or eGo. i keep mine on a lanyard and use it all the time, like when I'm skating, working, etc. Keep my other toys in safe places.

I've never ordered directly from them, but I can't imagine they would have bad customer service or anything like that. It might take a while to ship, though, since they're in China.
