Acrylic Drip Tip - A42

This is what it is. Your clearomizer does have a drip tip, but you cannot remove it and put a new one on. On the type of clearomizer you are using, the drip tip is what you take off to fill it with juice. Similarly, if you tried to use another drip tip, it would cause your juice to spill.

Just to point out, you can spend a small fortune jumping from device to device. Until you pick one and learn ALL you can about it's good and bad points AND learn to master it to get the performance you desire, yo will keep having issues.

First and foremost - Pick something that by design was made to be serviceable. Ce4 was meant to toss when failing, like a Cartomizer.
A few of us have had limited success in making them last longer but inevitably they die.

For Clarity - Ce4 permanent assembly - ce5 servicable

Which is yours?

I use a Kanger protank on a 1100 mah ego and they work great. I've tried all three ohm ratings and honestly dont notice a huge difference. Protanks are hassle free, replaceable heads (rebuildable if you would like) that are pretty cheap. It's not going to be the greatest vape on earth but from where you're at now, a nice inexpensive upgrade. I usually run 50/50 pg/vg through them with no problems, btw.

I agree with crxess. Buy an EVOD or two and a pack or two of replacement heads. You can use the tank basically forever and you replace the heads every so often -- if you buy them in bulk they're only a buck or two, or about 1/4 the price of a pack of smokes, so no big deal if you end up changing it out once a week. That's what I do, and I'm really happy with my setup.

I used to use CE4's or Vision Stardusts as my main vape for a while last year. I would typically get a few weeks from one and have gotten as much as 6 weeks a couple of times. I used to rinse and dry burn after every couple of tanks. The wicks are silica and the heat of a dry burn does not affect them. What does affect their life is if you let them get too gunked up. That's bad as they then become very hard to get clean. I did once buy a cheaper clearo and found the wick deteriorated after the first dry burn, so I always stuck with the Vision product after that.

Here is a video on how to dry burn these. What he does is pretty much what I used to do and still do with my Vivi Nova coils. Don't worry about water on the wick, it will dry off in a minute once you put power on it. The trick is not to leave power on for too long or you will melt (people say 'pop') the coil. Watch the color of the coil. Once it gets red, immediately stop powering it. Of course, a gunked up coil makes for a pretty lousy vape, so you don't have much to lose if you destroy it. I poped one and then it never happened to me again.

BTW, VN coils are amazing! I have one that is still going strong after I figure about 80 ml through it :2cool:! I don't use it often any more, so it will probably last me years.

Great to hear you've learned so much. As I was going through the thread, I was thinking that you weren't getting enough liquid across the coil, leading to a burning taste that eventually pollutes whatever's left in the tank. It also sounds like you were working with a thick liquid which also contributes to the wicking issue.

The Protank isn't immune to wicking issues with thick juices, but it does do a better job of keeping liquid moving.
