I am a long time lurker, and VERY new member. The thread about the "Reply From The FDA" is very important to all of us as it may mean the END OF E-CIGs as we know them. I joined today to try and get the ball rolling for an Email, Mail, and Phone campaign to make the Center for tobacco Products at the Food and Drug Administration aware of how we all feel about their recent statement today.

Please take a moment to read the thread there (Electronic Cigarette News - Legislation News - Reply From The FDA) and perhaps pass on the following contact information for Lawrence R Deyton, Director for the Center for tobacco Products:

LAWRENCE R. DEYTON, MD, MSPH
Director
Center for Tobacco Products
U.S. Food and Drug Administration
9200 Corporate Boulevard
Rockville, MD 20850
Phone: 877/287-1373
E-mail: askctp@fda.hhs.gov

I think it would be pretty hard for them to ignore 5000+ emails, letters, calls about their response...

I'm too NEW to the forum to have access to that area so if some more senior member finds this info useful, please pass it on there where it will do some good. I found that contact info via a simple Google search.

Thank you!

Hi all - This is only my 5th post even though I've been a member for a few months. I received the email, but from the White House Petition. I re-read the petitions, pretty much all in the last few months, that I signed. I do not see any wording in these petitions where "We The People" signing these petitions were asking for advice on how to quit tobacco products. Mainly cigarettes. It seems to me that by signing these petitions, we are telling government agencies that we found what works for our part of "We The People". We are not asking for their approval, we are telling them. We need to remember this, and keep telling them!!!

Bill has already been informed of this. It's an auto reply to having "signed" the petition.

I know, just wasn't sure if Lawrence's contact info was available to everyone. I believe they would notice if thousands of emails, letters, and calls came into that office all in response to their ridiculous response. (having images of mailbag upon mailbag being dumped on his desk and overflowing all over the floor, the phone ringing off the hook in the background, all the while the IT guy is screaming "the outlook server just crashed!")
