After reading nearly all 11 pages from the "Vegetable glycerine (glycerol) - safety discussion" thread I was more confused than when I began. Around page 8 it just becomes a .....-fest from seasoned forum members.

I'm new to vaporising and new to the forum but if someone could please sum up in a a couple of sentences the risks of e-cig VG vs PG vapour that'd be truly great.

Plus:
Anyone know what amounts of Acrolein we are typically getting from 5 minutes of VG vaping?

Anyone got any suggestions of flavouring chemicals to stay away from? Any safe flavours?

There was alot of discussion on this earlier in the year - if you do a search in the health section (I think..) you should find it. I beleive, iirc, that the general consenus was low to no risk. However if YOU believe it is more risky for you then you must make your own choice as to whether to use it or not.
I chose to use it, as I prefer PG/VG mixed liquids, rather than smoke

Edit: some links here to studies: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-e-cig-related-legal-medical-information.html

Personally, when DIY'ing liquid i stay away from artificial colourings, also anything with sugars and oils(generally attie killers).....but thats me. There's a whole Forum on DIY liquid in Tips and Tricks.

Yeah, I can sum that up in one word. None. This is an issue that simply doesn't exist. The temperatures needed to produce even trace amounts of acrolein is hundreds of times higher than an atomizer coil can survive. I wish I'd bookmarked the report from the study that proved this but I didn't. This is just another straw that the anti-ecig forces have tried to grasp at.

Thanks for the responses guys. Nice to have that pretty much summed up. And so quickly :)

I first tried out being active on the forum at perefect electronc cigarette, but seems there's only a couple of members even reading posts there. Think I'll stick around here. Diggin this EC, no analogue for 2 weeks now. WOOT!

Pity they're still not legal here in the land of OZ. I got told the other day there's even some archaic law that prevents E-cigs from being used in smoke free areas.

Thanks again for the warm welcome and quick responses
